Footy Coverage

Channel 10 really slumped to an all time low last night with their attempt to show a game of footy.

Apart from the anti-Essendon barrage that comes from the sniper from Carlscum town wtf is up with some of their camera angles. They make the game unwatchable sometimes and they seem to have made the innovative step of introducing us to the 'no player' cam. This is where a camera is zoomed in so tight that all you see is a mash of colours and see no players or action what so ever.

Also what is with them showing meaningless replays of nothing while the live action continues unseen?? I kept yelling at the TV 'can we see the f***** live play for a little while!!!'

Shit, biased comments mixed with shit camera angles thrown in with an incompetent editing team seems to be the way forward these days.

I used to bag the piss out of Ch 9 but jesus apart from a few gigantic egos and over commercialised telecasts at least they had the manners to show the game in a way that it could be watched...

*End Rant*

Very ordinary. Amatuer stuff. It's a simple process to master, but they continually butcher it.

Hey they're only bringing it down to the standard that is demanded by the AFL puppet masters. The whole game has gone to pot in the last few years. The coverage may as well suck as well.

Only thing to do is give the rights to the ABC.

Dont write off Foxtel for ruining its coverage also. They must bring back the footy channel or even have a "Football Channel" which is exclusive to soccer, AFL and NRL. We are on FS1 and have to compete against the tenis, superbikes and other garbage sport that only 2% of the population give a **** about.

Yeah spot on I was saying the other day that I miss Fox Footy. I missed last weeks game where we flogged the Lethal Lions and I only got the chance to see the 2nd and 3rd quarters in my lunch break early last week.

With Fox Footy every game was replayed over and over again for the whole week not once or twice in the middle of the frickin day!!

They also need to buy some FX mics ffs it sounds like a graveyard with their coverage...

They have bigger problems to worry about than some f***** twilight grand final.

Get your house in order, that goes for all you pathetic mobs. It's a bloody disgrace.

It might just be my TV, but I can't hear a word the CH10 commentators are saying over the atmos noise of the crowd. It's as if they have it up too loud or something... I suppose in one way it's a blessing in disguise...

Really? I didn't see either of their games on TV this week, but I have only had the opposite probelm - not enough crowd noise.

So can't really comment on them, but I think 7 is guilty of this because they leave the umps mics on all the time and turn the crowd noise down (although I haven't watched a game on 7 for a while either). As if we need to hear the umpire yell "play on" every 10 seconds and not get the atmosphere of the crowd. Umpire mics were good once, but now I reckon they (thanks to the broacasters) ruin the game for the TV viewers. They on;y ever shuold be used when the umpire is explaining something important.
