GET CHARMAN!

Post by tom9779 »

altho Brisbanes management would be loathed to deal with us after the Michael incident, business is business.

if we have the trade, we would be stupid not to put something on the table to them.

Don't want to create too much speculation about trade bait. But heck if we wanted to solve our ruck problems, the answer is right there.
Brisbane want another marking forward if you believe the Riewoldt rumours.

Hille and Charman would be a top shelf ruck combo.

With his partner living in Melbourne it must be pretty hard to be away from them so long. He would certainly be welcome at Essendon.

Now this would be a smart trade option that would definately benefit the club. We desperatly need another decent ruckman to help Hille out as it seems that Laycock just isn't up to it at the moment. Charman would be welcomed with open arms!!!

what would brissy want in return though?? i might get hammered for saying this but since they want a forward would Johns be an option to trade with??

i wouldnt trade Johns. we have put some long hard yards into the kid. he just needs a season or two to get some touch and i think after that, he would be a ready replacement for Lucas or Lloyd.

I don't think Brisbane would even look at Johns.

id be ok with a johns trade, but we also have to consider our future forward line the in process

but yeah we could sure use a quality ruck man to free Hille up a bit... he does some nice work away from rucking

I am in for getting this guy he is a quality ruckman and would be a great compliment to Hille.

I dont think Johns is out of the question to be traded especially if Gumby lives up to expectation. Brissie may be interested in Lazycock as a trade??

Love to have him at the Bombers. Good player and has that little bit of c*** in him. We need some more of that.

Offer Brisbane a draft pick an Mal Michael and see what they say...

Seriously, I'd trade a Johns and a pick for Charman. But If they Lions think they can use Charman to get Riewoldt, we may need to offer something more substantial.

Pretty hard to compete with a Reiwoldt swap!

Imagine that forward line. Reiwoldt and Brown, they would take 185 marks a game for a return of 2 goals 34! All they'd need to complete it is Richo at FF

I like it.

To be honest, Laycock has looked dangerous at times playing as a forward for us. I'm not sure whether this is because Lloyd and Lucas attract the opposition's best defenders, or whether he's had an immobile ruckmen playing on him a the time. But he's got a good set of hands, true kick and reasonable pace.

I think Brisbane could be interested in him more as a forward than a ruckmen.

I would have said Tredrea but hey, Richo is close enough.

Actually my only concern with Charman is the injury risk, I think he has missed a few games at the lions.(hasn't he already done a knee?)

But he is young and talented, and knee surgery is pretty good these days....

Yeah he did a knee in 2005 i think, correct me if i'm wrong though. He hasn't seemed to have any other major injuries since then though.
Another concern i have of him, is that he can do some stupid things on the footy field. Doesn't have the best of records going around, but i would be more than happy to overlook them to pick him up. Imagine having him and Hille rucking!!

And who will we be able to give up to get Charman?

We have no one who Brisbane would be interested in.
