What a game this is going to be. Hirdys 200th or 250th :? not sure but we should be fired up. Also Campos 200. The cats will probably still be at their best next week so it should set up an exciting encounter next week. I know it was disappointing last night to let them back into the game but it just showed how a team can do something for another player / coach and I think we will do it for them next week :D Can't wait !

Thoughts.

If Campo plays       , Christ, we can't carry slow old players, even I can see that.

the way we are going we will get done by 10 goals.

the cats are the goods this year, the only thing which would give us a win, is a great game back by hille, and a return to form for our midfielders.

Hirds 250th
And Campos 250th IF he plays

I think we'll lose by 5 goals.

Such a tough game for Hird's 250th. Hopefully the players show some more fight than they did in the middle two quarters.

We will lose...simply a matter of by how much.

Our midfield is pathetic and will be shown up in the next couple of weeks against the Cats and Dogs, which have classy, speedy, effective midfields.

I wouldn't say it is impossible.

It appears that this side dose not fire against the sides that we are expected to beat

eg: Richmond, Carlton and last night Melbourne.

It could quite well be all in the mind set of certain individuals.

A big game against the Cats in itself may well be the catalyze the team nees.

It will be hard though.

We'll be competitive but end up losing by 4-5 goals.

Geelong's midfield is far superior to ours.

im going to say we'll win based on the fact we've beaten far superior teams before this year and also this year is full of weird results, lets have another one :)

I don't think we will win, however so far this year we have tended to play well against the better teams.

The Geelong midfield could really give us a lot of trouble. We will need Hille and Chook the give us good use of the ball. Their rucks have been ok, but not up to to those we have gone up against over the last few weeks.

(plagiarised myself from the tough month thread)

No science to what I'm about to write but here goes:

Watched the last half of the Geelong/Sydney game today and I reckon Geelong are due for a loss. They had a few injuries today and looked pretty frazzled for most of the last quarter. They've now won eight on the trot which is damn good but I think we're a good chance this week.

It's Hirdy's 250th (and campo's as well) which should provide some additional inspiration/incentive. Shit, I'm feeling so upbeat about this game that I might just pick us to win.

Hopefully Bartel is out for the next game. I am super confident of an upset totally different to how I felt on friday night. You can think I'm nuts but we will do it for hirdy.

yeah i can't see him playing, they dont usually play after a small concussion, and this time he ended up in hospital, can't see him getting up against us

Bartel has concussion I'd imagine, went to hosp. with tingling in his neck and shoulders after a knock to the scone.

Geelong played a good deal of today's game in very hot, heavy conditions - that wont do them any favours come our game.

I'm tipping Geelong, but wont be even remotely surprised if we get up.

I went with "win by under 4 points". As has previously been mentioned, Geelong may just be due for a loss - no team is invincible. I'll tip us - as always - but won't be surprised with the result either way. I just hope it's close - we can't afford a big loss.
