Best Father and Son Combinations

Post by Windy_Hill »

Nominations are

1) Ken and Dustin Fletcher
2) Sergio and Steve Silvagni
3) Tim and Jobe Watson
4) Gary and Gary Ablett
5) Travis and David Cloke

There are many others so please add them if you think they are better than any of the above.

In my mind its gotta be the Abletts although the Fletchers make a pretty good double act.

Perhaps in a few years the Watsons may be the stand out.

Hopefully in a few more years we may be able to add:

1) The Neagles
2) The Danihers

and maybe....

3) The Hirds (Scary to think about that one though)

Not scary...how many dynasties of that magnitude would exist in footy?

Nah, not the prospect of how good that combination could be...It's more the matter that we are all going to age another 10 or so years until then!

Shane and Ty Zantuck.

Seriously though. How about the following?

Ron Barassi Snr and Jr
Ted Whitten Snr and Jr
Michael and Shane Tuck
John and Mark Murphy
Graeme and Chad/Kane Cornes
Geoff and Andrew Raines
Cnt and Cnt Shaw
Russell and Brett Ebert
Hayden Bunton Snr and Jr

I would have the Abletts out in front of the Fletchers, then Barassis.
Though if we were counting SANFL, the Eberts and the Buntons would be way up there.

Id have the Abletts way ahead of the Fletchers and Watsons. Dustin is a star, and Timmy was an absolute star. But they are both way behind G Ablett Senior and Junior is an absolute gun!

Geelong has a fair few father and sons.....

Matthew and John (?) Scarlett
Tom and Jack Hawkins (plenty of potential)

Gary Ablett Snr & Jnr for me. Gary Ablett Snr is the best footballer I've ever seen. He was the freak of all freaks. An amazing talent. I simply loved all those games we played against Geelong - even the one's where we got smashed. He was great to watch. Pity he turned into a sad individual. His son is pretty handy too.

Have to say apart from the obvious

Geoff/ Andrew Raines is going along nicely

So is Dad and son Blake at Geelong

Ross and Jesse Smith have started very well

Hopefully a new Daniher dynasty at Windy Hill will start as of next year too.
