He's sounding a bit Ken Bruce in that interview. Hird would be a good coach if he did a proper apprenticeship though.

Hirdy shoul take a minimum of a year off and then get back into footy should he feel the need.
There are some tough decisions to make the bombers regarding current players and I dont feel Hirdy could cull any of his team mates.
We need someone new with no prior ties to come in make some tough decisions and set a future direction

totally nuts!!!

I think Hird will coach but I wonder if it will ever be at Essendon?

If we go with a new coach this year, and assuming he is successful, the liklihood is that this person will have a stable long term role at Windy Hill - that is the Essendon way I suppose.

As such, should Hird want to come out and coach in the next 3-5 years, maybe it will have to be elsewhere.

Instead of having CUPS of TEA with KERRY STOKES,he'll be doing that with whomever owns 9 these days!

Next year anyway.
