Just reading an article in Inside Football with the above title and it's interesting to see some of the names included (and others that missed)

It was done in concert with SEN and the actual team will be announced sometime today.

Back Pocket: Gary Ayres, Bill Duckworth, Glen Archer, Val Perovic

Full Back: David Dench, Dustin Fletcher (No Silvagni)

HBF: Bruce Doull, Guy McKenna, Andrew McKay

CHB: Peter Knights, Billy Picken, Glen Jakovich, David Rhys-Jones

Centre: Maurice Rioli, Leon Baker, Ian Stewart

Wing: Peter Matera, Michael Long, Robert Dipierdomenico, Darren Millane

HFF: Bob Keddie, Brent Crosswell, Syd Jackson, Wayne Johnston, Kevin Bartlett

CHF: Dermott Brereton, Wayne Carey, Royce Hart, Steve Kernahan, Arnold Breidis

Forward Pocket: Peter Daicos, Twiggy Dunne, James Hird

Full Forward: Phil Baker, Gary Ablett, Jason Dunstall

Ruck: Don Scott, Clark Keating, Simon Madden, Mike Fitzpatrick, Damian Monkhorst, John Nicholls

Ruck Rover: Kevin Sheedy, Anthony Koutifides, Dean Kemp, Chris Judd

Rover: Tony Shaw, Kevin Bartlett, Leigh Matthews

I've highlighted the ones I would pick and have included the following on my four man bench:

Glen Jakovich, Maurice Rioli, John Nicholls and Dean Kemp.

Coach: Why the Great Man himself - Mr Kevin Sheedy

What do you all think?

Lockett didn't make the cut as a full forward on the potential list?

The players listed are those players who performed like stars in numerous Grand Finals. He only played in one (although he kicked 6, the Swans were rolled easily).

I could only do one that covered my time as a footy follower 78-now.

A few of those were before my time. And some that should get a mention aren't in that SEN squad.

My side would be (best performances in a GF):

B: Harmes (Carl), Martyn (NM), Ayres (Haw)
HB: Rhys Jones (Carl), Knights (Haw), Archer (NM)
C: Matera (WC), Rioli (Rich), Blumfield (Ess)
HF: Daicos (Coll), Brereton (Haw), Hird (Ess)
F: Matthews (Haw), Ablett (Geel), Bartlett (Rich)
Ruck: Madden (Ess)
Rovers: Judd (WC), T Shaw (Coll)
Bench: Kernahan (Carl), P Baker (NM), Scott (Haw), L Baker (Ess)
Emergency: Barnard (Ess), Ashman (Carl), DiPierdomenico (Haw)

Good point. Brain failure in the GF dept.

It's an interesting exercise isn't it...how do you rate Blumfield ahead of Long given Long won Norm Smith in '93

There's a real side.
Boy, you've come up with a team that would almost be unbeatable.
Can't come up with an improvement without being the ultimate pedant.
What a team.

Gotta be a good forward line when you can't squeeze Lloyd in there. 4 in 2000 and 5 in 2001.

Ablett kicked that the '89 GF alone, I know...
