So proud of them. They were brilliant today.

Talk about everything Essendon. Past, Present and Future if it's about the Bombers this is the place to be.

25 points down, with Lucas off injured, and the maggots giving us a nice screwing, the excuses were there for them to roll over. They didnt though, and they came back and made North look ******* ordinary. This mid-field keeps persisting. Stanton, Dyson, and Houli were all down early, but they kept at it, and kept coming. Grant gave Dempsey a towelling, but he also turned it around. Likewise with Rama. Hille has finally got the bit of mongrel in him that had been lacking. He really gave one of the maggots a serve for not protecting Lloyd after he took a mark. NLM is inspired, he chased, tackled, and goaled like a mother fcker on a mission. Ryder is going to be anything, beautifully balanced, and such poise. He is like the bastard son of Gavin Wanganeen, and Polly Farmer. Davey is Davey, and has improved his fitness to the extent that he is now an awesome addition to our mid-field. Jobe Watson has the hands of a professional masterbator. McVeigh is starting to believe he is an elite footballer, and is performing as such. McPhee was superb today. I love him up forward, he is such a difficult match up.

Anyways f*** it, I know we have Geelong next week so enjoy it while we can, these guys will keep coming at them though.

Houli will get Brownlow votes this year. The improvement in him is phenomenal.

Dyson, still have question marks, but if he can get a few touches against the 'hard at the ball' Cats (Tenace exempted), then maybe he can convince me.

Lonergan was a revelation.

Rama was cool as a cucumber.

The rucks did their bit.

Leroy & Froggy look like the X factor.

Thank christ they took Fletch off Nathan Thompson - certain players have their bogey players, & Tommo is one of the very few that has his measure. As soon as Fletch had a bit of freedom in the 2nd half, he was a different player & big Mal took care of Tommo.

Courtney Dempsay I am now sold on.

Stants had an ordinary game, but will get better.

Lloyd I reckon is gonna step up this year & look out for son of Merv to come in for Lucas, & as he is not fit. be played off ther bench & be a 2nd half specialist.

The future is bright & I gotta get shades.

I don't reckon Stants looked fit. Started on the bench and seemed to struggle for second efforts.

We certainly played well. Our run through the middle was just great to watch and I liked how there were alot of interchanges off the bench to keep players fresh. The gameplan will take alot out of the players.

 Classic!

It was hovering around 30 degrees inside the Dome ALL DAY. The humidity was unbelievable. So that effort to come back from 27 points down to win by 8+ goals was a super effort. Everything was going against them - shit decisions, sloppy play, Lucas off and gone, but somehow they believed in themselves and persevered. We're going to see some bad mistakes made from time to time, but when we get it right, we're very dangerous.

I took my 6 yo daughter for her first ever game. She knew we hadn't beaten these pricks since she was born. I had the greatest day at the footy with her today. She really got into it, cheered every mark and goal and we were high fiving everything from mid way through the 3rd Q until the end. She waved her cap around after every Lloyd goal (he signed her cap at the Family Day at Queens Park) and just had an absolute ball.

Well done Bombers, a great victory. And congrat to Matty Knights on a first up win 8)

McPhee has finally found his position. HFF running through the middle, hitting blokes hard and getting the ball. He presents well and delivers the footy well.

Houli got better as the game went on.
Dyson didnt do much today, needs to increase his output.
Davey did what he had to do, wasnt electrifying, but did enough. At least he didnt throw in the towel like his brother does when he is not having his usual game.
Mal played well, Thompson got two shocking goals from poor umpiring.
He kicks on the left
He kicks on the riiiiiiiiigggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhttttttttttttt

I thought that the way we held together in the 2nd quarter was fantastic as we looked like shite in the first. Great signs for the future the way they did not turn it up.

I thought that Stanton looked crook and out of sorts and played in that vein.

Fabulous 3rd quarter with centre clearances we just have not seen for the past 2 years. Rucks take a lot of credit for that.

To see the game plan develop in training and practice matches to be manifested on the field has been a real buzz. I really believe we could catch the Cats napping as I did not think they looked all that flash. If anything, arrogant.
Too far for Baker now he's on to it, now he’s got it, OPEN GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Dons are in front by one point at the 8 minute mark

I loved the way Lloyd stepped up a notch after Lucas left the field.

I loved the chasing and harrassing of Alwyn & Leroy & others.

There were still a few clangers here and there (hopefully they can be ironed out as the season goes on).
But it was just great to see them playing so positively with some semblance of a game plan.

Anyone now who still says we should have kept Sheedy for a 28th year and just kept doing the same old thing should be committed to a mental institution.
