Gumbleton Injured AGAIN

Post by dheal »

Just noticed the Gumbleton strained his Knee Medial Ligament at training today & will miss the next 3 to 4 weeks. What have we done to see this extraordinery long injury list, someone has to accountable or is it just bad luck.

This is un-f******-believable. :(
Essendon key position prospect, Scott Gumbleton, will miss the next three to four weeks after straining a medial ligament in his left knee during a training drill this afternoon.

Team Manager, David Calthorpe, said the 19-year-old was injured during a regulation drill that involved tackling.

"This is one of those unfortunate incidents that can occur where he was tackled and, unfortunately, strained his left knee," Calthorpe said.

"We are optimistic he will only miss three to four weeks and then make a return to footy.

“He will have scans on Monday to confirm our early diagnosis and make sure there is no other damage.

"The sad thing for Scott is that he had been training strongly following a hamstring injury in the NAB Cup and would have resumed this weekend if the Bendigo Bombers didn’t have a bye.”
Thing that has me worried is that all these injuries really have everyone's spirits down...way down. If the players come out feeling the same this weekend, we will be slaughtered.

This is isn't disappointing anymore. It's hilarious.

I'm disappointed my prediction that David Hille would get a severed eye whilst fighting over a tin of spaghetti didn't eventuate, but still.

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKk!
What a joke this has become.

I want to see this kid playing football and we can't even get him on the bloody park for more than 1 minute, over 4 pre season games, and 6 bloody rounds of football! Now he is out for another 4! Pathetic.

Agreed. We are going to run out of available players soon.

Does anyone else recall the last time we had an injury list this bad? I don't even think 1996 was as bad as it has been this year.

I bags number 83 to put on my jumper when I get called up to play!

There's nothing depressing about this list - it's a joke... it has to be... what did we ever do to deserve this???

Kicked 10 goals to three quarter time a week ago, could be a chance.

I hope he gets though the Hall of Fame match personally, if he plays.

If he gets injured, I won't say I told you so.

He was one player I was hoping to see play CHF while Lucas was out. Looks like he may not even make it back before Scotty returns!

How can both Gumby and Davey sustain quite serious injuries in a "routine training drill"??
Is this just incredible bad luck or is there something wrong with our "routine" training drills? :(

If players are routinely injured during training drills, I'd call that a routine drill, too, given our current situation
