Absolutely f***'n ridiculous - Selwood was winded for a few moments and taken out of the play. And nothing about the jumper punches from Marc Murphy in that same game. I don't even remember NLM hitting anybody and certainly not been taken out of the play like Selwood. It's not enough that the AFL have helped Carlton for the last five years with draft picks etc, now they're helping them out at the tribunal too FFS.

I heard there was a similar incident to McPhee's in the Sydney- Bulldogs match but haven't seen any reports laid.

Mcphee's was soft. A free kick, and thats all. Similar incident happened between WCE & Carlton, it was dealt with correctly. Whatever we get back v Sydney now will only be replacements for what we have lost. Was hoping to see a close to full strength team running around

I think they want Fevola wearing a big V jumper this Saturday. That's probably why he got off.

I wouldn't be too distressed if someone walked up to AFL House with a bazooka and blew that F****** joint up. Corrupt arseholes.

The tribunal report said:
Fevola's actions were "not unreasonable"
And then;
They decided there was no strike as Fevola did not raise his arm or fist toward Selwood
That is utter bullshit!

He could have still played if he was rubbed out. That piece of human excrement from West Coast (Kerr) is eligable to play for the Dream Team this week, and he still has 2 weeks suspension to serve.

I read that article too. It spells it out pretty clearly, and it's not a good look for the AFL particularly when you consider that a former Carlton player (McKay) was the one who made the decision to let Fevola off.

when will there be some positive news about the EFC?

chronic injury list - players gone for half/full seasons,
suspensions,
10-15 goal thumpings(inc on anzac day :( ),
5K dollar fines.

bah. season from hell.

Both NLM and McPhee are contesting their charges:

http://www.essendonfc.com.au/news/news.asp?nid=5763

Interesting to see how this goes. I thought McPhee did a pretty good job of pulling up before running into Salopek, plus Salopek kind of fell over too, and so has at least some chance to get away with a reprimand. Not sure about NLM - soft, but obvious and unnecessary.

Neither challenge was successful #-o - both players will miss the Sydney match:

I'm surprised they weren't given an extra week for their measure. It takes Josh Carr 15 citations to get one suspension, while the rest of the footballing world....

We won't need to worry about any of our boys getting hurt next Saturday night in the exhibition game. :)

I'm almost certainly going to be unpopular but I didn't think that Fevola's "punch" was bad at all. And i f***'n hate the guy.

Didn't see either of the PcMee / NatRat incidents but obviously not surprised at the verdict given our history...
