Essendon vs Richmond Game Thread (belated)

Lifted intensity which is good. Great passage of play and rewarded by Monfries kicking truly. long shot to be so confident but its an improvement from the first half and Richmond have a tendancy to fade. Not holding my breath

What the f*** did they give them at half time? Other than a pretty good bollocking I'd say.

Great third quarter.

Hille, Lloyd were wonderful.

Only if Gus got that one late after he got a 50 metre penalty, ruined what was a really good quarter from him.

Least we're NOW showing some balls and a bit a pride in the jumper.

All we needed was one goal. Richmond get it. Still time but I personally don't think so.

McMahon is slaughtering us in this last quarter. Just as we're mounting what looks like a counter to push for the match, he's carving us up and the wind has gone out of our sails.

15 minutes of football, is that all this side is capable of? and that against a side who is hardly turning the world on fire...

Where does that now leave us as a club? And honestly where does that leave us in the future? Remember some of our future shining stars are West Aussies and lets face it the offers will come for some and there are no guarantees of them staying.

And the big question is, apparently we are an all out attacking side, that being the case would expect big scores kicked against us, BUT shouldnt we be kicking a bag ourselves? Attacking my arse! No goals in the first, 2 in the second, and so far 1 in the last. and yes we kicked 6 in the third but i think that had more to do with Richmond resting than us playing.

Ah role on 2009, hopefully with a massive cleanout in all positions (on and off field).

Ah hang on Lloydy just kicked one late in the last. Signs are positive we are heading in the right direction...

Almost seems like Hille is the only guy doing anything for us... although Lloyd just kicked his 4th.

Cripes, we died in that last quarter but thankfully we weren't smashed. A better side would have buried us, a la Sydney last week. Only 38 points this week, with just a quarter and a half of footy being played by us again. Seems to be the norm these days.

I am still unhappy with the performance but if we didn't claw back a bit it would be another 80+. a few positives from me, Mr Positive. Hille, Gus, Lloyd and Stants were great in that little comeback. Found a little bit of cohesion and flow which was great. Negatives far outweight the positives, slow starts, poor skills, young players decision making could've coontributed to a shot at winning. many others but can't think of anything else to say. :( Feel free to add your own, im sure there are heaps more negatives to come.

I would be stoked if we put that quarter and a half of football in up front.

ie put in a great 1st quarter. Thats what we gotta do first.
