Injury situation improving

Talk about everything Essendon. Past, Present and Future if it's about the Bombers this is the place to be.

Fletcher future being assessed

Monday, 30 June 2008
for essendonfc.com.au

Star Bomber Dustin Fletcher will have an x-ray this afternoon to assess the extent of the damage to the hand he injured during Essendon’s win over Fremantle yesterday. Fletcher injured the hand just prior to half-time and did not return to the field after the main break.

Club doctors suspect that Fletcher has broken his hand but the extent of the damage and the impact on his immediate playing future is still unknown. He has not been ruled out of the Bombers next game against Brisbane at The Dome in two weeks time.

Apart from Fletcher, Essendon’s injury situation is improving. Jay Neagle – a late withdrawal from the Fremantle game with ankle soreness – is expected to be fit to play against Brisbane as is Bachar Houli (groin) and Henry Slattery (cheekbone). Darcy Daniher could also return from a back injury.

Heath Hocking is also expected to make his long-awaited return to football following groin surgery. It was supposed to happen last weekend but club medical staff opted to take a conservative approach with him. Typical F****** Essendon

Jason Winderlich’s season is over because of a back injury and he will undergo surgery this afternoon. Courtenay Dempsey (shin) could be back in action within two weeks while Jason Johnson is another month away after aggravating a calf injury. A time frame for the return of Scott Gumbleton (collarbone) has not been set.
Better safe than sorry...the extra week off won't do him any harm.

Yes Benny it's a problem - dodgey pins!

Still it could be worse - Andrew Lee is dodgey from his cranium follicles down.
