Don't kill me for moving on so soon after todays game but we need to move on and put this game behind us, as one of those days. We rose to fruition against the scum last week, I honestly think that we are a shot next week, a small shot but I will keep a lid on it at this stage. We don't deserve to be favourites but I love that Collingwood are having a go at the umpires, as stupid as this may sound but in my opinion, fire them up and hopefully they will give payback on Saturday :) I'm dreamin.. but yeah, I am going next week and its a new game so I'm content at this stage.

TOTALLY AGREE!

Let's move on and forget about today.

BIG match next week with a big crowd and tv audience.

We're also back at the MCG where I think we'll play our best football this year.

Tip Dons by 10pts (will be close and a much better spectacle)

Well at this stage, not that I will buy it, looks to be a wet sorta day so bit nervous if that's the case. But nothing can dampen ANZAC Day for me, haven't been since 06 game (shocker) so looking forward to the game and saluting those great diggers alive and deceased for their great service to out great country. Sorry to get so patriotic, it just makes me proud to be an Australian (first generation). Hopefully boys can pull a rabbit out of the hat.

What does 'Anazac' stand for?

It should be an interesting contest. We know that our guys do tend to lift in the bigger games but they would want to put last years debacle out of their minds. We need to keep a tight leash on players like Davis, Didak, Lockyer and Medhurst if we are to be any chance of coming close to them or even winning the match. Our forwards simply must fire up as well. We have to put the score on the board and take all of our opportunities when they come. Lucas and Hille need big ones.

Should the club play TB next week so that Ryder can play back on Anthony? The team that we pick will also be determined by the weather it would seem. I feel that we need to bring in some bigger bodies like Lonergan and Natrat for the clash as well.

Depending on Skipworth's injury we may need to make an extra change...

Hocking for Skippy
Lonergan for Dyson
Houli for Quinn
Natrat/Hooker for Pears/Daniher

Id give Gussy one more week, Anzac Day is a perfect chance for him to shine.

Yes, I forgot that Skippy is injured and Hocking will hopefully be right for next week.

Dyson has done OK up until today.

I'd stick with Daniher and Pears. Natrat and Hooker aren't any better IMO.

I'm beginning to think that Gus is just plain shit. He's played nearly 80 games now, and just cannot fire up and provide anything of substance in the first half of the season. This is where the season is shaped, and he is the invisible man. I guess he will appear in the 2nd half of the year with a couple of cameo performances, when we probably have no chance of making the 8 by then.

Surely Hooker deserves a run before Houli BD... Houli doesn't look fit to me. Wouldn't be surprised if he's carrying something...

Reckon we really missed Hocking around the clearances yesterday. Funny saying that about a kid that's only played a hand full of games but... Hope he's good for Anzac Day.

:-k

I tell you who we miss (or I do at least) is the grunt and the little class that Reimers provides. It's pissing me off that he aint available

It's hard to guage form at Bendigo Bombers. Really hard.

My team for Saturday (subject to fitness):

B: Slattery Fletcher (Rocca) Daniher (Anthony)
HB: Dempsey Ryder (Cloke) Hocking
C: Winderlich Stanton Lonergan
HF: Davey Lovett-Murray Monfries
F: Lucas Lloyd McVeigh

Foll: Hille Lovett Watson

Int: Jetta McPhee Houli Zaharakis

In: Hocking Lonergan Lovett-Murray Jetta
Out: Pears Dyson Skipworth Quinn

I believe this team can see us win - based on a bit more run, toughness around the ball and flexibility.

I am not going to enjoy watching this game

Maybe we should bring back Hirdy... Would still get a game ahead of Gus, McPhee and co on last weeks output

Don't worry people - we'll win this.

I attended in 03', 04' and 05' which led to excellent victories. Although 05' was a horrible game played in gorgeous conditions.

I was however absent in 06', 07' and 08' and we all know what happened then.

TMFBL is in town this weekend, put your hard earned on the EFC 8)

Hocking back after 1 week from a broken toe?
NLM at centre half forward?

this is what i would do

INS: (Lonergan or Houli),Bellchambers, NLM and Hooker .
OUTS: Skipworth,Mcphee, Quinn, Lucas.

Drop two KPP, add 1 ruck and 1 KPP and swap in a midfielder due to injury. I think thats about right.

Thats enough change, the rest just need a rocket from the coach and we need plenty of skills training.

I'm figuring if we are resting Hille in the forward 50, we can and should give either Lucas or McPhee a rest.(maybe even both...heck send em the message knighter they need to LIFT)

Ryder plays centre half forward.

Indeed. He was great against Carlton: got the ball AND no-one could get him when he had it.
Brought back memories of Misiti pretty much standing still yet evading the whole other team.
