I was there Bonce, and I still get a bit of firming in the trousers when I think of that night . What a game, what a win!!! Thoroughly enjoyed sticking it up 40000 Shocker supporters.

I miss those days too
I flew over for that game. Had Dockers officials at Melbourne airport being smart asses while waiting for the flight. It was a great night. My voice was knacked for 3 days after that. Not sure if it was the yelling or the grog afterwards. Funny thing was Eagles supporters coming up to us at the casino like they had won the game. One even brought me a beer.
What a night that was...the shockers fans were creaming themselves when they started well but that was it for them. The noise level when we scored was awesome....enough to send a shiver down my spine. We came, we saw, we kicked serious butt.
And then just to make it a great weekend, I played golf the next day and had my best score for over ten years.
"You can quote me on this... He is gawn" - bomberdonnie re Hurley's contract status 25 February 2012
But the drive behind the Essendon side that made the Dockers look like schoolboys that night is still a closer relative to the 2000 premiership side than the combination that will claim the Bombers' next flag - whenever that might be
Make no mistake, the Dockers are going places. Their era of success is in the post and will be upon us soon. But that night in Perth, an ageing champion reminded them that it had not arrived just yet.
