Injury report from the game

Post by Mrs Mercuri »

From SEN

Dempsey has done the hamstring.... #-o
Fletcher had a tight back/groin and wasnt risked so you would think he would be right next week.
Ryder with the medial damage to his knee... will need scans. Would be a huge blow if we didint have him for the match against the Shockers and Sandilands.

Stants, Atkinson, Welsh and Lonergan were also walking wounded.

What is Winderlich's status? We really need him next week.

Add Houli and Reimers as late withdrawls, it was a pretty bad week for injuries.

Really worried about Ryder.

Knighta has just said that Dempsey and Fletch will probably be out for 2 weeks, he is confident that Ryder may only miss the 1 week but could be 3 weeks (depending on how he pulls up tomorrow).

Reimers, Lloyd and Lucas will be close to selection... Hocking and Skipworth were BOG for Bendigo today.

As I mentioned in another thread this win got us in the eight, but the injuries sustained might not let us stay in. Have to beat freo next week.

But who have we got?

Its in W.A too, we travel very badly :(

we'll no doubt have some quality ins but changing a winning team and may unsettle them.... who knows these days, even the saints can't win with 8 superstar changes

Hooker will have to come in for Ryder
Daniher in for Fletcher
Skipworth or Jetta in for Dempsey

I dont think we should play Lloyd and Lucas again... Neagle, McPhee, Monfries and even Hurley have looked super dangerous up there the past few weeks.

Then we have Reimers and Hocking available as well.

It pains me to say this, but we have definitely looked better without Lloyd & Lucas. If we bring them both back in, it will slow us down considerably and Freo will probably beat us. Maybe bring one in but definitely not both.

Also, Bellchambers did ok today. Definitely a correct inclusion.

Pre game interview LIoyd was saying he could be back or he might be finished for the season. The heel flared up after a training session, where in retrospect he should've waited a bit longer. He said it's a difficult one to work out, and he was unsure of how the injury was going to progress.

Correct. I've said it every time one or both of Lloyd and Lucas have missed this year, our forward line is better for their absence. Neagle again showed a bit today, obviously needs to get fitter but hopefully he starts realising that he's good enough and there's a spot for the taking.

Do Freo seriously WANT to win another match though...i just hope that tonights win fires up the boys and gives them the hunger to play for finals.

Probably not. But WC didn't want to either & we managed to get them over the line.

If Lovett can avoid a corkie this trip we should be ok.

Just our luck! I think we should have Fremantle covered but Hawthorn is a different story.

Actually I think its the other way around - reckon we will beat Hawthorn (who will be out of the running) and lose to Freo

The key is Brisbane beating Port at the Gabba next week - if that happens then we can make the 8 with only one more win

So that's it. Essendon and Brisbane win next week and the eight is sealed?
