McPhee and McVeigh

Post by robbie67 »

What are the excuses for them this week? A bit tired form the aeroplane? Too many injuries during the game? Busy sniffing each other's vaginas?

******* pathetic from these two "leaders".

McPhee pulled a heart muscle a few weeks back, has been carrying that ever since.

McVeigh has a case of "sydney extra salary cap". Will have surgery on it during trade week.

NLM has been ok, and I doubt you will get a top 10 pick anyway.

however, Sydney do chase recycled players and pay over the top for them, so who knows.

NLM has only been "ok" since they found the eccy. Up until then, his season (his career actually) has been a pile of shit.

Yeah i think Natrat has done ok this season... at least he has put in a decent effort today... 21 possies and 2 goals is more than a lot of other players have contributed today.

Im getting sick of McVeigh though... was one of my faves a couple of years back... now i wouldnt care if we pack him off to Sydney.

McPhee is just a constant dissapointment. Dyson worked his ass off to give him an easy mark in the last, and he just ******* spilt it. No poise at all.

You really are a ******* idiot sometimes. On a day like today, why are they no where near our top 5? They are on top 5 money, they are in the top 5 most expierienced, when it matters so much, why are they not leading from the front? I tell you why. They have big pink vaginas between their legs.

Mcveigh can Pack his bags now...
Has promised so much after letting us down so badly and delivered next to nothing...
Don't need someone who spouts out their you know what...
At least Mcphee can have a crack at times...
No excuses for Mcveigh, Prismall had a massively interrupted pre season yet he continues to deliver...

Harden up Mcveigh... or go elsewhere now...
Sorry use to be 1 of my favs...

Hmmm .... don't think they were engaged in the horizontal jogging on the field today (though they may have been a bit more productive in this) - but they needed to stand up in terms of leadership.

Apart from the above named - the team looked like a bunch of injured players who shouldn't have made the trip and kids who needed to be told what to do.

Cheers- STI

Probably unfair to single out two players even though some leadership needed to be shown. The whole side was rubbish.

But it is the same ******* story every week. These same two blokes almost cost us last week because of a lack of poise. It's alright for them to star in shit teams with nothing on the line as they have done previously, but I have yet to see either of them stand up when it really matters.........ever.

Thats what makes them so disappointing though...they are the experienced heads in the team yet they have no leadership on the field. McPhee at least led the side well last week... McVeigh has been a major disapointment after everything that has happened.

I hate to admit it, but Stanton is miles ahead of these guys as a leader and footballer. Today, when Watson went down, it was Stanton who was doing all he could to lift the team. Too bad no one else hoped on board.

Agree with everything in this thread.

You have to accept that sometimes the young players will have down weeks, but they are the weeks where the senior players need to stand up and drag them over the line. McV and McP were F****** terrible yesterday.

McPhee is actually one of the worst marks in the competition.

Spike is out of form. But f****** hell he has been close our best player in the previous 2 seasons. Talk of trading him is insanity.

We did lack leadership today and guys like Spike, Welsh and McPhee should've provided it. They are all good players and are in the age bracket we are desperately lacking. There is no way they are going anywhere.

That may be so but maybe they need the threat of trading to give them a bit of a reality check... or not put them in the leadership group next year.

This Saturday afternoon’s do-or-die blockbuster against the Hawks is Essendon’s most important match in the last five years, according to Mark McVeigh.

McVeigh says the team is focused on producing finals-like football in what he expects will be a high intensity clash which will ultimately determine the Bombers’ finals fate.

“You are playing for a spot in the finals so why wouldn’t there be fireworks,” McVeigh said.

“Hawthorn and Essendon have got a great rivalry and over the years we have had some great battles between the two sides. But at the end of the day it is all about the football really. You don’t want to go out there and do anything stupid because you may be in a finals series the week after.

“In terms of hardness at the football and a contest, it will be very tough and rugged and that’s the way it should be because that is finals football and that is what our team needs.”
What happened yesterday then?

I thought McVeigh was finally turning it around a couple of weeks back.
Probably in the Brisbane game he didn't get a stack of possessions, but at least was winning hard balls again.
Last week was pretty good too.

This is unacceptable. Bring in Hocking, who gives it a red hot crack at every contest.

I don't get McPhee. Sometimes brilliant, but so often a dud.
Monfries in a few years.
