Fresh injury concern for Bombers

MATTHEW Lloyd and Paddy Ryder look set to line-up tomorrow against Hawthorn, but Jobe Watson may be in doubt to play. Watson was put through a rigorous fitness test this morning before leaving the track early.
The key onballer appeared to injure his ankle in the Bombers’ loss to Fremantle last Sunday and has not trained all week.
Bombers coach Matthew Knights tested Watson himself this morning in a vigorous contested ball drill.
Watson, Knights and club doctor Bruce Reid then had a lengthy discussion before the midfielder left the track ahead of his teammates.
Ryder and Lloyd, who have been battling injury themselves, both moved freely in a light training session.
More will be known on Watson’s injury after a Bombers’ press conference after training.

Ever since 2006, Jobe has been super fit and super durable. Of all the fracken times to get an injury.....

Is it the same ankle he did against Carlton about six weeks ago? If it is ... might be re-injured?
EDIT: Fox just showed him doing his fitness test and he looked to be moving ok, they reckon he'll play.

ESSENDON ruckman Patrick Ryder has trained well at Windy Hill on Friday morning and looks set to take his place in the Bombers team for their must-win clash with Hawthorn at the MCG on Saturday afternoon.
The winner will advance to the first weekend in September, while the loser's season will be over.
Skipper Matthew Lloyd also looked good during the light run and skills session.
Key midfielder Jobe Watson was also under a fitness cloud with an ankle injury, and he was required to undergo a separate fitness test after the main session, reappearing about 15 minutes after the team had gone into the rooms.
Watson moved well during the test, which included sprints, cone-running and being tackled to the ground by coach Matthew Knights, and seemed happy with the results.
However, Knights was spotted shaking his head during discussions with the three medical staff – among them fitness guru Stu Cormack – conducting the session and Watson.
Ryder injured his right knee in the club's win over the Saints in round 20, and while it was feared his season could be over, he was saved by the fact that the injury was muscle-related, not cartilage or ligament.
Lloyd has been missing from the Bombers lineup since he injured his heel in the round 17 loss to the Tigers, but his frustration is set to end on Saturday afternoon.

Hmmmmm,
My gut feeling says he won't play. If we do get up over the Hawks without him, and he's 100% for either the Blues or the Crows, it will prove to be a very wise move.
Still we need him tomorrow, interesting to see how this plays out.

No change to the team announced last night, so he (and Lloyd) are ostensibly right to go. Guess we'll find out tomorrow pretty quickly if he's right or not.
