I've been told it is released this week ? Bit early for mine but best start a thread up just in case. Word around the internet we will play Sydney in Sydney (SCG) round 1 on Saturday night. Better not be!! Sick of going interstate in round 1!!

Though I heard October 23,Friday week.

Better not bot be the Swans in Syd in round 1.... im sick of us getting interstate games in round 1. I hope we play Carlton!!

I think sometime ago it was reported that Essendon had put a special request to play sydney round 1. A season opener to promote the game in nsw. they wanted it played maybe a week(or half week) early on its own to get a national tv audience.

The swans often start their season slowly, so 4 points is 4 points. If it was guaranteed I'd head up there and be happy to.

Beat me to it Tom, I was going to post something similar. I also think that this would become an ongoing arrangement if it is done, though I don't know if it is Sydney vs Essendon or Sydney vs Whoever they want...

i dunno how this was known but Brisbane is playing Carlton in round 2.... read that in an article somewhere so that in itself could mean it's BS

The draft draw is (or just has been) released this week "under embargo" to media so they can cross check against other commitments (like homes and gardens) and put their 2 cents in about scheduling to maximise their TV and radio audiences.

Of course - despite being embargoed - some of the draw will leak....
