Votes vs Scum

Post by Crazyman »

5. Fletch (just about unpassable)
4. Watto (great in and under)
3. Reimers (some good goals, worked hard further up the ground as well)
2. Pears (did a good job...constantly spoiling and generating drive)
1. Gumby (presented well, worked hard)

Apologies Willo (kicked straight, worked hard, but not much ball), NatRat, Ryder, Melksham & Colyer (great signs first up from these two lads)...

Also I thought that whilst Demps worked hard, his disposals were the worst this week...

5. Pears
4. Fletch
3. Jobe
2. McReimy
1. Welsh

I don't actually remember Fletcher or Pears losing a contest tonight. Thought Jobe's work in close was unbelievable at times and Welsh, despite not getting too much of the ball himself, kept Murphy very quiet.

Dyson and Hocking were unlucky.

5 - Fletcher (Lifted - showed leadership - did what he does best for 120 minutes)
4 - Hooker (despite making the Irish gimp look good for a nano-second))
3 - Dempsey (This bloke has taken on the Lovett role - and works f**king hard at it)
2 - Nat Rad (Generated a lot of ball from the guts - great return for his century)
1 - Watson (Did it when it counted - Quarters 1 and 4 - some of his ball use was sublime)

Apologies to Reimers, Pears, Hille (working back to form), Dyson (was very good and more importantly very smart in the final term), Colyer and Melksham - (two excellent debuts - shhhhh - lets not talk about them)
My material isn't very good..Oh...and then there's the bladder problem.

5. NLM (added that certain something, made many right decisions)
4. Fletcher (the Grange Hermitage of the AFL - gets better with age)
3. Pears (love his work)
2. Melksham (great debut)
1. Colyer (great debut)

Watto was great in and under but I was concerned with his propensity for uncatchable rocket handballs in the first half.

Even spread of contributions, so will back up my thoughts with some favourable stats :)

5. Fletch (20 disposals at 90% efficiency and 5 contested, game high 11 1%ers) - controlled the backline, saved goals, got us out of trouble.
4. NLM (31 disposals at 74% and 11 contested, 5 marks, 3 clearances, 1 goal) - grunt and dash. Solid game.
3. Pears (22 disposals at 77% and 10 contested, 7 marks, 5 1%ers) - refused to get beaten, hard at it all game.
2. Dyson (28 disposals at 82% and 8 contested, 9 marks) - solid game.
1. Watson (26 disposals at 73% and 16 contested, game high 7 clearances) - great in and under work.

Apologies to Williams & Reimers for the goals. Good to see the run of Colyer, and Melksham with 14 contested possessions.

5. Fletch (was a bit worried about him after the first two rounds - afraid he had gone on one year too long but obviously I was TOTALLY WRONG)
4. Pears (so steady!)
3. Hocking (has worked hard every week so far this year)
2. Melksham (PLEASE leave him in for a few weeks - what a debut!)
1. Colyer (ditto)

Honourable mentions: NLM (good to have him back), Reimers (why were you ever dropped?), Willo (hope this is the pattern from now on), Watto (love those missile handballs), Welsh (tagged well), Gumby (loved that screamer) and basically the whole team - don't think we had one passenger.
