A poem from Gringo

Seems like they are the flavour of the month around here so here goes:

A man,
Walking through a tree filled park,
Found a football,
He bent down to pick up the football,
Which he successfully did,
He then saw a child,
Running towards him,
Claiming possession of the football,
The man looked at the child,
And kicked the ball away.

Poignant aye, verging on the mythical.

Did you have to do this, you know you are only going to encourage our resident poet laureat to respond with more non ryhming guff set to the music from the Broadway hit "Rent"

The football,
converged upon by both man and child,
had no say in
its destiny.

I'll make sure the next one rhymes properly for you Windy. Might even be written in your honour :D

A lad called Gringo
A mate of the Gimp
Though not half as limp
If the games out of reach
Then it's off to the beach

There once was a man called Knights
Who gave Bombers supporters a hell of a fright
With his game and his plan
We watch stunned and deadpan
And pray one day we will get it all right !

Is the "man" a character drawn from experience or thought? Is he indeed a character, or perhaps a source of unfulfilled expectation? If the man falls and no one hears, or sees, this action, does the "man" exist?
