The Team - Spike not playing

Talk about everything Essendon. Past, Present and Future if it's about the Bombers this is the place to be.

The Team - Spike not playing

Post by swoodley »

No, I don't have all the details yet but Ashley Prescott has said this morning that Spike will not be traveling to Perth.

Good move this as you would have to be concerned about his fitness afterr being in hospital for five days.

Further signs of maturity in our selection processes and evidence of a wider pool of players to pick from....Spike would have been an automatic inclusion the last few years regardless of his situation.

No Prismall, maybe Davey.
Was out of the loop for first two games, whta's with Prismal, how is he disappointing the coaching staff - he was supposed to be a steal when he arrived. - over hyped ????????

People at the Freo game suggested there were a few instances were he didn't put his head over the ball when it was in dispute and he may be serving a penance for that. He had 26 possies that day so it can't be an issue with getting the ball.

OK thanks, it's nice for the club to be in a position where creditable substitutes can be included when players don't follow the line.

Not too fussed about Prismall being out this week. Need as much pace injected into the team as possible for the bigger ground. Colyer and Melksham would be stiff to miss out after last week and can use their pace. McVeigh needs match fitness and I don't want him back unless he's gonna improve further. Hurley in the forward line is a magnificent sight :) Think we are a big chance to win tomorrow night. Not tipping us but if we can replicate the first quarter of the NAB Cup match and play at that level for 4 quarters we should win. My concerns are the same shit happening again....leaving that northern side of the ground open for the Eagles to move the ball easily up the wing. Need to not let hacks like Hanson kick a bag. Watch LeCras too. Hope someone smashes Nic Nat too. Expect a long game if the Eagles are on top, Bruce & Dennis will orgasm for the entire match...the ads already promoting just him and the Eagles...shut them all up bombers!!

I'm glad that Spike was left out, he wouldn't be fit enough to play in the senior side yet. A week in the VFL will do him good.
