Jackson was very forceful in his defense of Essendon that we had done no shifties. Welman retired with a year to go on his contract. Mentioned BB salary cap problems.

GOD rang him and his m'ment and said "What have to do to get you after his retirement."

He did not receive a CENT of his last year of his contract.

He rang Brisvegas to say he was going into PSD.

Ess. fits into his new job in Melbourne...he lives here now.

Sheeds said he gives Senior players time off anyway so we fit into MM plans!!!

We have done everything above board.

Was Mal present at the press conference? what did he have to say.

obviously we will defend our position.

I wouldn't like it if the roles were reversed(eg an essendon player doing that to us and going to the lions).

Be interesting to be a fly up on the wall in the GABBA lions offices about now.....

It may be the Lions that get the last laugh...it depends on how he contributes.

Well it wasn't quite the same circumstances, but think of Gavin Wanganeen and Port Adelaide.

Unfortunately (fortunately), this is all Brisbanes fault. As WH pointed out earlier, they should have put in the contract that he cant play next year. If his wage was going into their cap next year, then we wouldnt be able to pick him up, even if he was paid out. But there was no pay out, nothing at all to suggest that he is on their books next year. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lions also had the option to give him the time off he wanted as well.

Im so glad that Sheeds coaxed him out of retirement, i was very concerned about our backline for next year after the disaster Bradley turned into this year. Michael and Fletcher... two of the best full backs of the last decade!!!!
