Hmmm ... named reserves won't fly out - Houlii, Slattery and Williams

Not a good result - all three need gametime to press for selection

Cheers - STI

Yiikes - thought it was at Gold coast ... well no suntan for these three this weekend!

But Bendigo is still 2 hours from Melb (alas - the EFC doen't have access to a private jet or helicopter) so still unlikely to get game time.''

Bring back the Ess seconds in an AFL seconds comp.

I think it's 12 midday, not 1pm.

How good is it to see so many Essendon players in, unlike last year!!??

I reckon 1 of the emergencies won't play this game, but the other two will, in case we need a late senior replacement. That seems to be what usually happens.

In the TV guide it says 1pm for the game but it does start at 12.10pm... are the ABC delaying the match or would I be better off setting my tape from 12pm??

Hmmm.

Usually they show the games live, although they don't usually have games that early.

If you're using a digital recorder, I definitely set it for 12.
If you're using ye olde videoe machine, perhaps take the TV guide at its word. Or use LP if yours has it.

I've just watched the 1st Quarter.

Leroy Jetta was bloody good. He was creative, clean, fast, and kicked a couple of snags. Ran beautifully from half back on occasions too. PLUS, he showed a bit of agro to his opponent. I hope he has turned the corner....

If Leroy can come good....well, lets hope hey. (With Alwyn appearing to be on the improve, the two of them together may really add some x factor)

We need Leroy to come good. He definitely has the ability. He just needs to toughen up mentally and away he'll go.

Just finished watching the 2nd quarter. He's had a ripper first half.

And we should seriously look at this Marcus Marigliani for a spot on our senior list. Can play. Solid player with good skills.

Neagle: 1 kick and 1 handball to half time. Seriously, where the f*** is he at?

Neagle wont play in the seniors again.... i don't see any possible way he could break in, we have 2 potential superstars in our forward line. how long is his current contract?

Marigliani kicked 3, and was clearly BOG. He's worth taking on IMO.

While Jetta was quieter in the 2nd half, his first half was terrific. His ball handling was clean and crisp, and his pressure on opponents was fantastic - hard chasing, tackling and smothering etc. Very good game.

Houli played well, but his handballing was atrocious at times. Must eradicate that from his game.

Mark Williams will be re-called next week.

Anyone thinking that Jay Neagle will return to the seniors soon, you are lucky you didn't get to see this game. By my reckoning he had 2 kick and 2 handballs for the match. David Rhys-Jones got stuck into him during the 3rd quarter for his disgusting lack of effort by saying "I hope he's injured because he needs some excuse for his lack of effort"
