No passengers = Good Football

Talk about everything Essendon. Past, Present and Future if it's about the Bombers this is the place to be.

No passengers = Good Football

Post by robbie67 »

I dont think it's much of a coincidence that we played our best football of the year without 3 or 4 of the blokes who shall go un-named. Even Myers had a good influencer after a very poor start, and Hooker was just about our best before he went off.

Bit harsh to put Natrat and Lonergan in that category.....

Welshy and Slats will have to fight to keep their spots in the coming weeks.

You mean they'll need to fight to get their spots back!

Was in danger of 3 above average performances in a row. Decided he had a hard earned reputation to protect.

But don't forget - We are apparently shit as was pointed out by many bandwagoners...
No gameplan, shit coach, shit players bla bla bla...
Just shows what persistence will do to a team like Essendon.
Great Win today... =D>
As I said in previous posts - couldn't fault the guts and determination since Anzac Day.
Last week to should have won but failed to finish.
This week - the polish that was needed...
Now for some consistentcy...and will will be a Team to be feared yet again...
Well done Bombers and like I always say
Tear em a New 1...

Heading towards our 10th straight year without a preliminary final. By our standards, yes apparently we are shit.

Yep. A bit of confidence goes a long way. All the more exciting when you compare both midfield's game experience... Saints must be spewing Lovey cocked things up. His leg speed today would have helped... Also, Froggy and Leroy's chasing today was fantastic. We look a lot more dangerous with both of them in the side IMHO...

Look Stryer just because various people have been critical of the team and coaches (me included) when they have played badly doesnt mean that equates to those people being bandwagoners. I think it just shows the depth of passion amongst supporters that want the team to play to their potential.

They were very good today and I was rapt to see them play with the great verve and guts that showed today.

Yeah, but if he plays next week, it'll still be 3 above average performances in a row.. Injury and suspension don't count..

Hope he puts on a show like he did for DreamTime last year..

If Hille doesn't get suspended...

Myers OUT - NLM IN

Myers wont be dropped after his game today....

Howlett might be in some bother.... of course Hooker is injured so we might not have to 'drop' anybody.

Myers was very good after quarter time today. No way would I drop him, just when we might reap the benefits if he gains some confidence.

Myers was good and deserves to keep his spot. NLM will come straight back in if he is ok.

I thought Prismall was shocking tonight. Too many fumbles, turnovers and he shirked the issue on a few occassions which I believe is why he was dropped after round 2.

Mate you are a goose - you dont think that this team needed a rocket up their clackers with the game plan and playing style?!!!!! Damn right they did - and yes its making a difference! Thank God these guys are now starting to get it it. KICK THE DAMN BALL

But please, spare me the morale high ground bullshit!!!

Been following thor more than 45 years now and I am absolutely entitled to be critical of the rubbish that has been served up in the last few weeks. Please, keep the Bandwagon calls to yourself

Yes I totally agree that they needed a rocket up their ass but I am nNot talking about that.
It is the constant putting down of the players, coach, gameplan etc...
It was exciting football to watch today as was last week...
Has the gameplan changed?
Or is it a case of the players with more experience learning to execute what was needed a lot better...
So I'm a goose? lol
I have supported my Team for 40 years through the good and the bad.
Yes I have become very frustrated at times too.

I am talking about bandwagoners who continually bag Essendon - damned if you do and damned if you don't
Not the die hard supporters...

All I am saying is give Knights a fair dinkum chance
Give the young team a chance and time to become consistent.
And in time I firmly believe - Ultimate Success :)

YES YES YES!!!!!!

It is very clear that the players have been told to play more directly - so all the angst from Fans and Media has done the trick and Knights has got this team focused on a far more achievable and appropriate playing style

Had we all sat around going well, its our beloved Bombers so fair cop, I dont mind if they play like sheilas then maybe, just maybe nothing would have changed!!

Best thing that has happened to Knights is being told to pull his finger out and stop trying to be DAvid Copperfield - you cant make chicken salad out of chicken shit so work with what you have and its pleasing to see the team doing this.

But hey, lets not forget the disaster that was th Port Adelaide game - these guys still have a long way to go
