He has been suspended for two weeks. He will play in the VFL. Ridiculous in my opinion. Would you be happy for this to have happened to an Essendon player in the same situation?

Surely the Doggies knew all about Aker's outspoken and direct nature and the role he plays in the media when they moved heaven ad earth to get him to the club.

A player is allowed to have an opinion... to suspend him for 2 weeks is absurd.

I think you'll find that the suspension is not in relation to the actual article but the fact that he made a few statements afterwards that were untrue....he said that the Bulldogs hierarchy had viewed the article and signed off on it when in fact there were several changes to the document after the Bulldogs had signed off on it.

Aker: Scapegoat.

Aker's suspension: PR. They suspended him because he's injured and needs the time off anyway, now they're seen to be punishing him without him actually losing anything but face. And lets face it, Aker doesn't have much of that to start with.

They knew what he was when they drafted him. If they're having a cry over that, then they can STFU.

Not much of a suspension when he wasn't going to play the next couple of weeks anyway.

Suspension will come into effect from when he is fit to play again, in essence oncehe is over his hamstring injury he has to play for Williamstown for at least 2 weeks before being consider fir senior selection.

He also stated that the Herald Sun added some of the more inflammatory sections of the article after he and the Bulldogs submitted without his knowledge. Such as the comment about if a player was to come out it would tear the fabric of the club apart. He has since admitted this was a lie and apolgised to the Bulldogs and Scum.

Didn't he take a massive paycut to play with them this year?
