Inequity of the Draw
Has anyone noticed the unfairness of the draw which has the Bombers playing Geelong TWICE in the first 12 rounds. With our fickle team thats 2 losses before we start which gives an unfair advatage to our nearest rivals. It stalls our rise up the ladder by sapping our confidence & percentage.
its particularily galling when The Aint's & the Dogs hav'nt even played them once, (the Dogs play them ONCE in ROUND 20 & the aint's ONCE in ROUND 13). This draw is a joke , thanks Vlad & Angry A, the morons.

Equity was thrown out when ratings and money got involved.

And Hawthorn even sooner after the first time.
It is f***** ridiculous. I don't mind that they changed from having every team play each other once and then the last 7 rounds the first 7 with home and away switched, but every team should play most of the other teams before they play other teams and definitely have a bigger gap between playing again.

Absolutely agree, everyone play each once then the last 7 rounds you can play your match ups to satisfy the broardcasters , afterall the AFL runs the game (in theory) not the media. But then again Vlad's salary is determined by the profitability of the AFL, so its in his personal interest to satisfy the broadcasters so they will pay more for the rights.j-mac31 wrote:And Hawthorn even sooner after the first time.

Seems to be a conflict of interest here.
But the draw changes again over the next 2 years with the 2 new teams. Wonder what mess Vlad & his cronies will create then.

As the bugger who used to be on ABC radio (with an annoying daughter on channel 10) says - it is not a draw ... it is a fixture.Ronny Rotten wrote:Has anyone noticed the unfairness of the draw which has the Bombers playing Geelong TWICE in the first 12 rounds. The only benefit from this fixture is it highlights our deficiencies - and hopefully we can work on that at the selection table/training and most importantly through recruitment ... oh I forgot!

if you search this forum, you will find at least a dozen posts from me on this joke. This fixturing in the AFL is shambolic and inequitable.
Re: Inequity of the Draw
Ah the draw, after round 13, we would have played Geelong and Hawthorn twice BEFORE playing:
North
Brisbane
Melbourne
Adelaide
Really hilarious.......

Does seem ridiculous but it will be a real achievement if we make the finals with the bad draw we have.

Re: Inequity of the Draw
Please substitute game schedule for draw, there is nothing random about who any team plays. The only redeeming feature about current AFL scheduling is that Collinhggwood get an easy run which leads them to belive they are closer to a flag than their talent justifys, and that a club like Essendon, is cherry ripe to win a flag once they overcome the schedule and finish in the top 4. It's a schedule not a draw.
