In 2006, I stayed with friends in Connecticut and every single person I met there hated Bush too. I think the last two presidential elections have made it painfully obvious that there are two Americas:
(1) sophisticated, well educated, modern liberal thinking people (mostly along the coast - California, the north-east, Florida etc)
(2) red neck intolerant ignorant hicks (most of the territory in the middle)
Let's hope for everyone's sake that more of category (1) turn out to vote next time and not so many category (2) !!

at least with Telstra your bills that are wrong get fixed, we just got our 3rd bill from Dodo and it's still all stuffed up from the first one... we pray everytime not to get a shy asian lady that promises to call back the same day but doesn't so we have to go through the same shit after giving up and calling them back... and that makes my girlfriend shitty, and all you guys out there know thats NOT a good thing haha

Telstra story. Similar anyone?
Payed $45 off the bill 3 weeks ago. Recieved a bill yesterday telling me I owed $45 overdue. Looked at their "credit recieved" part and it excluded the $45 payment. Rang them and after getting through the blasted machine recordings got guess who?? Thats right an Indian. Spent the next 10 minutes explaining the problem, once we got past that he looked it up in his computer and informed me no payment existed. I said, "I've got the reciept would you like the number?" He told me that he wouldnt because the computer was never wrong and obviously I was dodging the bill. After a further 10 minutes I got a touch frustrated and may have used some profanity. He passed me on to the supervisor, went through the whole song and dance AGAIN untill he agreed to check the reciept number. Well what do ya know?? The computer was wrong, morons. Oh and in case you were wondering, apology from telstra? Try getting blood from a stone.

Optus story anyone?
I signed up a phone in my employers name which is a fairly large organisation. I had to get a letter from one of my directors giving me permission to act on behalf of the company etc etc...
I did the same thing with Vodafone and Telstra without a hitch. Optus however royally farked it up.
Now seeing as these phones were all signed up (I thought) in my company's name then I was not looking out for bills so I just assumed that the bills were being sent to our head office and being paid for. The contract that I signed clearly had the company name on it with the correct billing address.
About 6 months later I get call from a credit management company demanding that I pay something like $1200. I was rather upfront about the fact that they were more likely for me to come over and make them a cup of tea than for me to pay them any money and this was before I had the full story... Which is:
The retarded piece of shit at the Optus store entered my name into the computer as the customer which meant that I was liable for any bills the account incurred... He also managed to fcuck up the address so that the bills were not getting sent to any address what so ever (Which means that Optus would have been recieving returned mail and took no action). So this meant that the phone that was now in my name and was being sent to the wrong address had incurred over 6 months of access charges plus a hefty disconnection charge and it was all in my name.
Called Optus they had no F****** idea what to do spoke to a manager and he would only transfer me through to their collections area who refused to talk to me because it had gone too far. spoke to the collection agency and ended up yelling the phrase verbatim before I hung up 'Yeah well I am not f****** paying the f****** bill until you take me out of the credit history and I will call the TIO to fix it if you are cant!!'
Called the TIO and they fixed it within a couple of days no drama at all
Moral to story if you have a genuine beef with a telco call the TIO the telcos are shit scared of their power... Trust me!!
