400 Members

Post by dom_105 » Fri Jun 22, 2007 2:38 pm

Well, we have finally passed another milestone. Since the 30th August 2006, when this site was relocated, we have chalked up 400 members. Congratulations all who make this site what it is.

A very good milestone.

Even though it's a minority of the 400 who post regulary it's better than what the old BT had become.

By a country mile.

As much as we like to have a go at Gringo, he at least backs up his statements (with old data none the less) and talks about real footy issues, unlike Bluey and his personalities.

It has been almost 4 years since we hit the 400 mark and we are now only on 459 members.

We have a good group on here but do we need more opinions?

just putting it out there!

I really like this site the way it is and barely even visit BB and would hate for BT to end up anything like that

The issue here is that when one of the main posters disappears for a while it is really noticed

I even miss Filthy's bullshit when he doesnt come on for a period of time

Leaving it as it is would be my preferred option

What I think would be ideal (no idea if it's possible or even realistic) would be for anyone with contacts to try and get essendonfc.com.au to do a website story or video blog about Essendon supporters and the internet. Where do they hang out online? What type of forums/chat rooms/Facebook pages are most popular and what type of demographic and topics do they target? What do the forums and their members contribute to the club?

Obviously BomberTalk would possibly get more of a minor mention than a couple of others, but any mention at all would generate some traffic.

Would just need to be well written in a way that could promote these online gatherings of Essendon fans while showing they were not officially connected to the club.

Yeah I remember that. Just thought it was interesting that so few members have signed up in a four year period.

Last year was the nadir of BT ... I can't recall more than 10-20 consistent posters (and that includes visiting saint!). It looked like the site would die - but diehards (special mention to Robbie, Robrulz, Ms Mecuri, Gringo, Gimps, Megan, Windy, BomberDonnie and Jazz - and apologies for those I have missed) kept the site alive.

This year - a bit of onfield success and some old names have re-appeared. Good to see the excitement building.

Now if we can just get some new blood in here to offset the fossils like myself.
