Totally Vindicates WA Closing it’s Border, although I get the feeling it’s no guarantee of keeping the Bastard Out!

Reading about the ECMO is very distressing.Certainly for those on Maximum Ventilation.

Those who Flout the Rules, really need to see this.If they’re too damn Stubborm to admit how bloody Serious Covid really is,maybe a lot of Jail time, may save them from a lot of Rest Time.

At least they may have Time to really have a good, long think about it!

9 ECMO in Vic tonight. Covid likely for most but I don't know exactly. The Covids generally get sick after ~ 8-10 days and then take some time to deteriorate further before intubation/ventilation. Recovery is generally slow. ECMO in that sense is then quite a late intervention and represents last chance. Of course recovery is possible but it takes time waiting for the lungs to recover themselves.

People are slowly leaving hospital (home or otherwise :? ) but the ICU stats are staying relatively steady as the sicker ones take a looong time to recover.

ICU numbers dropped a fair way last couple of days.

The fenceline they're walking is dangerous. The Libs and business are screaming "think of the economy". They would've opened weeks ago. I wonder how that might've gone?

Ask BoJo in the UK (pop 66M) ...6000-7000 daily new cases. They're running at 10% mortality/deaths of known cases. About to lockdown again.
Spain, 12000 daily new cases...seasonal fruit pickers getting a lot of the blame.
Peru..averaging ~ 7000 daily and about to open further. Already 32000 deaths from over 800K infections.

The lesson...opening the economy early doesn't work. Follow up restrictions need to stay, eg physical distancing guidelines, masks, venue closures, crowd avoidance etc. It's a new world.

Enough of the general population doesn't listen and have proved to be irresponsible enough to f*** it up for the rest. They seem to be marching towards the herd immunity thing, but for that to be effective >75% of the population need to get infected. That'll fix the jobless numbers! Step up for your dose everyone. Line up behind the liberal politicians. :-k

I'm gonna try real hard to be objective here but...
Is anyone noticing that the people creating the most noise about "let it rip" are the people that are entirely insulated from the problem?
Politicians, big business (Joyce & Co), Murdoch - including Bolt who has moved from Melb city to the country (anyone know where he went?) and Jones (bunkered at a rural location), Celebs (like Sam Newman & Rebecca Judd)
None of them are at any real risk of infection, and can live comfortably regardless of the restrictions.
Is the anti-restriction "noise" they make a case of them reflecting society, or society mirroring their views?
