RIP Robert James Lee Hawke

Post by BenDoolan » Thu May 16, 2019 10:40 pm

A brilliant leader who oozed charisma. A real statesman who transformed our country. If only the political leaders of today could have just an ounce of his ability and intellect.

He was the Prime Minister when I became old enough to vote. The manner in which he led our Country at the time had an enormous impact on me.

Thank you Mr Hawke.

He was a giant that strode across our nation's political landscape for 3 decades. A reformer, a man of the people, a man who wore his heart on his sleeve, a man who saw wrong and wanted to right it, a man of tremendous intellect and a man that could bring people together no matter what side of fence they sat on.

You will go down in our nations history as one of greatest PMs.

Vale Robert James Lee Hawke.

Good on you Hawkey!

Any man in his mid 80s who can scull a beer is alright by me.

Watching the tributes and highlights of him over the last couple of days make you realise what lightweights Morrison and Shorten are.
