Now,can we STOP f****** ABOUT and Re-SIGN him for 2 years?
Perhaps we should just wait and see what pans out. However, if this speculation is true, and Lloyd is trying to dictate negotiations, then I don't like it. 2 years? I don't think so.
Knights has publicly said that the decision for Lloyd playing on is entirely Lloyd's decision - and he would support it. Now if Lloyd wants to wear red and black, then all he has to do is sign the papers.
He won't be around by the time we have a crack at the next flag and we need to start grooming the next key forward
He is taking the place of a kid that needs game time - Gumby/Daniher
Most likely get a 2nd round pick for him
Cons:
Didn't really contribute much this year on the score board
Not much value outside of the F50
Unknown impact on the playing group
"..computer games don't affect kids. I mean if Pacman affected our generation as kids, we'd all be running around in a darkened room, munching pills and listening to repetitive electronic music. "
He won't be going anywhere else anyhow. What club in their right mind would take a large chunk of their salary cap for one season? They can't put him on as a veteran, so all of his salary would be added to the cap. Unless he plays for peanuts (which he won't).

Following media requests, general manager of football operations, Paul Hamilton, today said that Matthew Lloyd will meet with Matthew Knights this week to discuss his playing future in 2010.
Hamilton said that, despite significant public interest and media comment surrounding the captain’s decision, the club and Lloyd agreed mid-year to meet post-season as part of the player review and list management process and nothing has changed.
Knights has previously said that he will support Lloyd, 31, if he wants to continue playing in 2010.
should Lloydy be exempt from the magoos if he is out of form for weeks?
This is the problem I think Lloyd has. He has seen Lucas been dropped and then retired without a game to be sent off with. Surely this must be weighing heavily on Lloyds mind.
He definitely wont be captain next year, which means he will be dropped just like any other player out of form. and if Lloyd plays last season like this one, it could be ugly. If we are pushing for finals we could see Lloydys career end very unceremoniously.
Will Knighta play him at FF? He isnt very effective elsewhere. Lloyd has intimated that he thinks he can play an alistair lynch type of role at FF from what I have read. But will knighta play him there??? I think Lloyd has to play there to be effective.
