They PUMPED is at Jihad in 2008.. was a twilight game, I nearly threw up watching that junk.. That was the last time we played them at Jihad.Filthy wrote:This is the first time we have had them at Jihad Stadium since the last time we beat them which was when Lloydy knocked out Cornes. =D>
I think Myers will come in for Welsh whether we like it or not....big body for big body.......just kick the bloody thing long David and don't try passing...you can't do it.
Willo will probably come in for Dyson although I think Howlett should. Its all about face and having the big name recruit in the 2's is not a good look
Forget about Tredrea and the other big guy at CHF; their job is the bring down ball for the 4 smalls. Hold those 4 and we win..simple...oh and tackling like last week would be nice.

If we can show the same intensity that we did last week we are a chance. No way we should be favourites.

Re: Essendon v Port Adelaide Pre Match Discussion
I was just having a look at the record against Port and they are definately one of the few teams we seem to struggle to get up against. We have only one one game against them since 2002.
Their average score against us (excluding the one win we had in 04) is 107.5 and ours is a paltry 63.6 which gives them an average margin over 7 goals a game in the last 8 years...
That said, I hope we can smash these bastards cause it is about time the wheel started turning in our favour against them...
And one other thing. Last year we kicked 9 with 8 goal kickers...5 of them are either gone from the club or out of the side for the weekend...

Like I said elsewhere this is one of our bogey sides along with the likes of Norf.
One thing we have going for us is they are coming off Showdown XXVIII. This may help in that there could be an air of let down after their reasonably tough local derby. If they are not on 100% we are a chance.
I am also hoping that the even, across the board pressure performance from all the players last week will give them a heap of confidence and we will get up.
Come on Bombers make our weekends shine again.

Re: Essendon v Port Adelaide Pre Match Discussion
if essendon returns to a weak insipid performance like they did against fremantle, westcoast or collingwood, i'll be whinging about knights.
i want a dead set red hot go from the boys. get their hands on the pill plenty.

Gimps wrote:Went into a TAB last night.. The Dons have been backed in to $1.68 from $1.75, Port out to $2.10 from $2.00...
That's a fair amount of cash to make a change like that.. Certainly wasn't any of mine.
In todays paper they said there was a 50K bet on essendon to win at $1.75.
That would move the odds down.
