Terry Wallace debating this on SEN at the moment... he reckons leave Hurls at CHB and draft another key forward (probably why Hale's name has been mentioned so we can leave Ryder forward)
i think Hurls is better suited to the back line as well...
Hardingham needs to fix his goal kicking before he is left permanently in the forward line.
Played majority in the backline for Bendigo this season. Darcy Daniher is another who probably has no idea which end of the ground he will play in years to come as well.
as great it would be to see him forward and really light up the forward line he really will be a sensation in the back line and given the focus on defence these days in AFL and especially at Essendon he needs to stay back there, he looks more comfortable down there anyway

He'll be at both ends at various stages of the season - and during games itself. He's just as versatile as Vander in that he can do the defensive job very well, and then cause havoc up forward. He won't, and never will be a one dimensional footballer.
Pears and Hurley will develop a pretty good combo down back, where does Hooker fit in as he has done well at CHB also. If we could get another ruckman Paddy Ryder would make a good FF as he is quick, a good mark and can kick. Paddy just needs to become more aggressive.

Emphatically this
Plus, of course, Hille.
Perhaps a bit of Carlisle too.
I like Hurley in the backline.
I think Knights game plan was built around a Hille, Ryder rotation at FF as resting ruckmen ......or there abouts. Hille falling down early certainly hurt us there in many games. I'd say if Knights was still at the helm, we'd be punching for an extra ruck for 2011. Now it's Hird, I'm not so sure.
For Hurley, I'd play him on the power forwards. Fletcher is getting to the end of his tether there. D50 will have Tate, Myeres and co to grow into the role. When we are facing teams with less ability....throw him forward Godard style. Hurley - Gumby - Hardingham would be a tough line to shut down for mine.
