Tactics for Sunday
Tactics for Sunday
1. Keep the game low scoring
2. If in doubt kick long
3. Tackle, tackle, tackle
4. Midfield to work extra hard getting back in defence
5. Always have a tall in the attacking goal square
Otherwise it will be about doing the basics well. I reckon we'll do em.

How about win your position?
What has impressed me about the coaching team this year is seemingly a tailored strategy applied for each and every team... I look forward to seeing what they come up with this weekend

Thankyou Professor. Why are we wasting millions on our coaching staff, with the likes of you in a wasted profession like the law?gringo wrote:1. Keep the game low scoring

I'm not sure if we should start calling you the Oracle or Tom Harley.. probably the latter, he's brilliant at stating the obvious.gringo wrote:1. Keep the game low scoring

Re: Tactics for Sunday
It's not a complex game. If it develops into a shoot out, we lose. Simple as that.

Re: Tactics for Sunday
How about we just smash the shit out of them or is that too simple.
Too far for Baker now he's on to it, now he’s got it, OPEN GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Dons are in front by one point at the 8 minute mark
Re: Tactics for Sunday
We would win the shoot out as we have better taller forwards and they have spuds like Jamieson and Waite
Re: Tactics for Sunday
We need to stop their midfield running forwards of the ball and kicking goals and getting quick ball to their ratty, small forwards. This happened in the second half of our most recent bout and we copped a flogging.watsongun wrote:We would win the shoot out as we have better taller forwards and they have spuds like Jamieson and Waite
I'd have thought the fact we have better talls means we can kick long to a contest whilst slowing the pace of the game down.

1. Keep the game low scoring
easy, we kick plenty of behinds?
2. If in doubt kick long
hmmm some nice continual turnovers in the middle of the MCG to keep our backs under continual pressure
3. Tackle, tackle, tackle
without first use of the footy, yup that will be the order of the day.
4. Midfield to work extra hard getting back in defence
consistently flooding our back 50 is a tactic we will need to employ.
5. Always have a tall in the attacking goal square
not sure about this one...I guess if we go with the 3 ruckman , they need to hide belly somewhere when he is resting.

The sad thing is the above probably represents the high water mark of your stint to date on Bombertalk.little_ripper wrote:1. Keep the game low scoring

Re: Tactics for Sunday
Here are the best players from our first match with Carlon this year:
Fletcher, Hooker, Zaharakis, Watson, Bellchambers, Hardingham, Lonergan
Of the seven named players, three are in and under midfielders and two are defenders. The scores were 79 a piece.
From memory, it was a hard fought scrap, played largely between the two half-back lines. Same again please.

Maybe that should say three are defenders (Fletch, Hardingham and Hooker) and two are in and under midfielders (Watson & Lonergan)gringo wrote:Here are the best players from our first match with Carlon this year:

Tackle, tackle, then tackle again.
Hit them hard and often.
Down hill skiers will fold under the pressure.
PS Tell Judd you are rooting Twigley constantly.

We've found the solution to Rosso's money wasting problem.

Double-teaming Judd at stoppages has been very effective recently.

Fair to say we failed on all accounts today.

Wasn't kicking to the opposition part of our plan? We definately pulled that off.
