I really wish I had've known this before yesterday when 'Scott' from Essendon called me to ask why i hadn't renewed yet, and told him i didn't have the money just yet.
I thought it was just Essendon being dodgy on the initial membership sendout to try and sign us up for a reserved seat with our membership. Had no idea it was mandatory. http://bombertalk4.com/viewtopic.php?f= ... 98#p207398
I don't even want the seat, i like to stand and jump around when I partake.
Anybody out there signed up without the reserved seat featurette?
How do you avoid the "reserved seat featurette"? I haven't signed up for the first time in many, many years because I prefer to stand and don't want to pay for something I will never use (especially as I was offered a seat behind the goals, a location I detest). I haven't heard from Scott yet; I await his call with much anticipation.
Well the High Mark Membership always had the reserved seat included (for home games) in the package. It then had the away game reserved seat available as an option. I still don't choose the have the away game reserve seat option because I can then take my daughter to these games and sit with her - or just catch up with mates who sit elsewhere.
I've had my reserved seat at the G since we moved there. I love it, but I cant stand my seat at Jihad.
I've always had the Silver (with Social Club) 11 game membership. I often go in the MCC (guest pass) for away games at the G, and buy a crap ticket at Jihad (just watch the game from the bar behind the goals.
The upgrade on the bronze m'ship is a bit rough, can understand people are pissed off.
Well it's convinced me to join up for the 3 game membership instead. Only $80 for MCG, which costs more than 3 general entry tickets, but at least i'm contributing in some (albeit small) manner.
Also the Etihad 3 gamer is $100, since when does 3 x reserved seating cost $20?
My other concern is we currently have 37,700 members, and aiming for 50,000. Nearly all should have reserved seats at Etihad due to membership.
Does that mean currently there is only 15,000 seats for opposition/general public not even taking into account the corporates?
Having this many reserved seats cannot possibly work if 15,000 do not wish to turn up for the game and would be reserved for them.
All I am saying is that even with reserved seating, there must still be a secondary process where you nominate your intention of going, so that the seat can be re-allocated to another person if not nominating to attend.
Logistically the first few matches there are going to be shite.
