O'Meara

Post by s'dreams »

Has requested a trade from the Suns

Gold Coast has stated that, despite him having crook knees and not having played for two years, it would take at least two top ten picks for the trade ... and have stated that otherwise he can nominate for the draft.

Hmmmm..... [-o< [-o< [-o<

Surely no-one would entertain 2 top 10 picks?

I doubt he is worth two top ten picks, but the GCS admin is trying to put their foot down to sop the bleeding of their top draft pick players south.

Perhaps they have to fix their culture first.

Can we get steadfast confirmation that he can go to PSD and not national draft?

Yes he can. He just doesn't nominate for the national draft.

Will he be the same after the injuries? Big ask 2 x first round picks for a bloke that hasn't played in 2 years.

What have we got to offer them (is he worth the pick 1?) and why are we never mentioned as a potential suitor? Hawks, Saints and Carlton mentioned - surely like Hurley every club would be asking questions...

I think we should be looking at what we can do to as a matter of principal.

Would be nice to see the club draw some talent to the club after the last couple of years.

I am sure we are looking, but not sure we can fit another top player in...
Hurley, Hooker, Heppel, Zach will be on decent coin...
Add a few kids coming through on increased coin...

That said, if we can get him... vingertje =D>

Cooney going this year and Goddard probably leaving end of 2017 might give some wriggle room for a deal.

Good trade or draft. Thank you Gold Coast. I'm pretty sure uncontracted players can refuse trades can't they? I'm thinking Hooker to West Coast a few years back.

Two years out with a separated patella tendon. :-k
Due diligence, some wiley trading and a kilo of good luck will see him go somewhere. Does anyone know of anyone that has recovered to an elite level after that injury :?: It was more than a strain.

Players have to agree to all trades.

If his body is good.

Pick 19, our first round 2017.

Would trade 1 but only in first round pick exchange with them so we still bring in another real good kid as well.

But massive if on his body is good. Then not sure but can he pass the Nd and go psd? Cos then he would be ours for knicks.

Only delisted current players can skip the national draft. Jaeger has been offered a contract. So does that make that option null and void?

Otherwise you have to have nominated for the.national draft and been passed on to be.considered for the psd.
Or not have played footy in 3 years.

The rules are on the interwe

This is a huge risk. We have experience with similar with Kommer. I doubt we're in the running, and it doesn't concern me due to the risk.
Quayle@The Age wrote:O'Meara's injury was a very bad one: a ruptured patella tendon. He hasn't played a senior AFL game in more than two years. His body didn't cope well when he tried to come back this year.

Even putting his his ability to get back to what he was aside, he has missed two years of development at a hugely important age.

Do you remember when GCS held is to ransom over Caddy?

Payback is a bitch muppets!!

Welcome to Essendon JOM. A no risk deal via our first pick in the PSD. We basically get him for nothing and as such, who cares if his knee is dodged. Nothing but upside and if he does come good, a midfield with Parish, Heppell, Merrett and O'Meara has the potential to be the very best going around

If he's deadset keen to come to us, we still would have got him with #2 pick in PSD (as he wants to leave QLD and Brisbane wouldn't bother wasting their #1 PSD on him).

He will still cost us plenty of $$$$

But he is worth the risk if he doesn't cost us any draft picks.
