McGrath? It's that athleticism and speed that's getting me excited.F111 wrote:Shaw wrote him up well in an article a month or two back. Aaron Francis is the Messiah.
Re: Pick 1
I watched a lot of highlights today during my lunch break. I've been pro McGrath for a while now, but after further examination, it truly is a toss of the coin between he and McCluggage for mine.
Re: Pick 1
Exactly me too. The lure of those points on the board every game from every angle is just too much
Re: Pick 1
I still believe we`ll take Mc Cluggage pick 1.
And I`m betting the one we don`t pick will go on and be a f***'n gun, so I`m just hoping the one we do chose also becomes a gun.
My interest is who we can snag with pick 20. Their will still be some decent talent around at that pick and there is always 'sliders'' that might get through. Funny to be actually looking forward to a draft.

I still think people are guessing. The club are holding the cards very close to there chest.
I think we need a goalkicking mid but will put my faith in the recruiting team to make the correct call, so I won't be upset on who we take.

Re: Pick 1
McGrath's competitive nature sure is alluring.

McCluggage is 5cm taller, same weight 75kg as McGrath, so maybe more frame to build muscle on and further develop. Earlier draft notes..
McGrath has shoulders taped and McGluggage has a history of back injury. 'licha comes to mind..

McGrath seems ready to go and might fit beautifully as an attacking hbf with future midfield aspirations. Heppell, Colyer, Zerrett, Parish, McCluggage 2018-2024 sure might make for one unbelievable engine room though. With every game this year McCluggage has jumped up the draft order. The wiry midfielder had an interrupted pre-season with a back injury and hasn't been able to build up his body yet, but that hasn't stopped him from piecing together a brilliant early season. McCluggage isn't electrifyingly quick, but he's elusive and difficult to catch, he sets up teammates and puts them into space and is neat by foot. A five-goal and 36-disposal game in the TAC Cup in May was his breakout performance. He is likely to take a little bit of time to step into an AFL midfield given his size.

Re: Pick 1
We sure are, especially with pick 1 and a very strong draft. Skill and ability won't be the issue with whoever we pick. In the long term, it'll be strength of body, resistence to injury and their mindset & behaviour that'll make or break whoever we select.BERT wrote:I still think people are guessing. Re: Pick 1
I don't disagree with this, but I think if our midfield improves enough we should be able to kick enough goals each week anyway.BERT wrote:I think we need a goalkicking mid

Re: Pick 1
Well McCluggage's dad has got 650 cows so any 18 y.o. boy who has pulled that many teats still has my vote (D.Trump excluded.)

About the same number of schlongs that Boncer has pulled in his time, and he's a useless footballer.Rover99 wrote:Well McCluggage's dad has got 650 cows so any 18 y.o. boy who has pulled that many teats still has my vote (D.Trump excluded.)

Re: Pick 1
Has anyone else noticed how the last couple of days before the draft how time drags? Or am I just impatient?
Nothing usually happens until something happens.
Re: Pick 1
God yes. Specially this year!!
Re: Pick 1
Yes it`s bloody well dragging it`s funny to be actually looking forward to a draft after the sanctions and shit of the last 4 years.mdso wrote:Has anyone else noticed how the last couple of days before the draft how time drags? Or am I just impatient?
One thing for sure though, we are going to get a good player in either of the Mc`s.
