ESSENDON says Jobe Watson is battling with the mental strain of his return to the club as he considers his future in football. Essendon adamant he will play round 1????? Have i actually missed something....i thought he was excited to be back??
...this shit never ends does it....just when we think AT LAST a bit of normality and the slightest feeling of slow growing excitement...we now have to wonder if Jobe will actually play at all!!! I think us EFC supporters need COMPENSATION TOO GOD DAMN IT!
It's an utter disgrace what's happened to this bloke. You have to shake your head that systems exist where someone like Jobe can be branded with something he never did, yet, have systems that fail to nail complete f*** heads like Cousins.
Who can blame the poor bloke after everything he has been put through?
Take your time Jobe and when you are ready slay them and win back the medal you should never have lost
I STRONGLY suspect it was a throw-away comment by the Coach which quickly grew legs and became something it was never meant to be.
The fact that Woosha then went on a bit of a charm offensive (I heard him give an interview on the radio pretty quickly after 'the story' broke) tells me that the club and the Coach wanted to change the narrative and halt any negative momentum.
Of course Jobe would not be in the best mental space after handing back his Brownlow. But to spin it into the prospect of him pulling out of football altogether is a stretch.
Anything Essendon, Drugs Scandal, Jobe Watson just feeds the beast.
Look away - nothing to see here.
My material isn't very good..Oh...and then there's the bladder problem.
Should not have listened to radio, watch t.v. or read the papers after handing in his Brownlow. Hoped this wouldn't happen for Jobe but is not unusual. He is facing something no other Essendon player has ever faced before and this has never happened before in the history of the VFL/AFL. Losing the Brownlow a big deal. The papers, radio and social media are full of it and maybe Jobe thought the media would die back but they have come on strong again because; anything Essendon, sells papers. Perhaps there is only one other person who might have any idea what its like to be hounded as a result of this saga and that's James Hird and his family. I hope Jobe is nurtured by the people at the club and given space by everyone if that's what he needs.
Ask yourself, do you honestly think the media and other teams supporters are going to lay off and give our players a fair go once the AFL season begins? You think the AFL will advise people not to boo and give the players a fair go? Tell the media to back off? I don't think so.
Media threw some mayo on those comments naturally, come round 1 we'll see a pumped up Jobe get BOG yet poll 0 brownlow votes
