That sort of Clanger my way Ben,gifted the opposition their 1st Goal, where Swan Districts’ deficit was 40 points and turned into a 3 point deficit to us late in the game.We got out of it,but such Clangers can turn a game right on it’s head and things just get Plain UGLY! :-&

People underestimate the impact of such a Clanger. They can be absolute momentum shifters. They can also cost you games. Has anyone forgotten Goddard’s Clanger nugget v Sydney?? Cost us the game with seconds to go. How anyone can say they have little impact on results is beyond me. Probably the same people who sit there complaining that an umpiring decision has cost us the game...

Crazyman wrote: Mon Apr 22, 2019 9:23 am The majority on that list spend time in around clearances (Shaw the obvious exception).

As such most of their clangers will be under pressure.

What stands out with our clangers is how bad they are. Missing targets by hand and foot under no pressure. Missing shots on goal from inside 30 at no more than 45 degree angles, kickin turn overs resulting in goals...the general obvious shitness of our clangers is what stands out...

Dusty, Danger & co. Generally have clangers getting the ball out of a pack...we have that, but sooooo many more horrid ones.
Absolutely correct...which is why I believe the term should be unforced error. In other words, quick clearance kicks from a bounce that wind up going out on the full should not be a changer. I kick for goal inside 50 directly in front that misses the target should be an unforced error. A wayward pass in the back line under no pressure that results in a turnover and goal to the opposition is a clanger

BD I dont think we are too far apart. My point was in terms of point 2 that our clangers have been mitigated by other Bombers ready to clean up the mistake even if unforced. The positioning and willingness to run both ways that has been seen of late seems to have minimised the impact of clangers. That is a really good thing for us when we are playing this high octane hard running pressure brand of footy because it gives players the belief to keep making the play and not go too much into their shells.

I guess the proof the pudding will come Thursday. If the scum are on we will be punished relentlessly if we make mistakes.

All I can say is keep going really hard, pressure pressure pressure and attack as we have done.

So we’re in the top 8 fir the bad stuff - clangers and turnovers, and bottom 8 for good stuff - 1%ers and disposal efficiency. Says it all.

Has anyone been following the issue of our km's covered and number of sprints per game??

It is absolutely horrifying...in our least three games we are registering numbers that are half or even a third of our opponents

Is this club seriously that unfit....or is it simply a lack of effort to run with the opposition???

Being heavily discussed over on Bomberblitz

Its our new game plan. Waiting for them to come to us instead of running with them. Why didn't we think of it before?

Uncanny! Exact same disposal numbers. Shows Zachy to be a cleaner user of the pill. Quality player. Doesn’t appear to be playing at the same level as last year, but his stats are very good!
