Adam Tipungwuti is expected to go long before we get a look in... Norf are very keen
With our recruitment history - we are just as likely to relist Jackson Merrett and Leuenberger

Aaron Heppell has nominated. Go for it!
Re: Mid Season Draft
Pick’em all from Subiaco,Claremont and South Fremantle if you have to pillage the WAFL.
Re: Mid Season Draft
OK - if we swing one of Stringer and Shiel onto the LTI list - could we get 3 picks?

The way we coach and play - they'd go backwards anyway

Re: Mid Season Draft
Is there a mid season delisting period?
Re: Mid Season Draft
I’d prefer we don’t go for the quick fix mid season draft. We have juniors on our list that have had multiple seasons without much of a look in. Let’s see how they go, otherwise we’re just throwing draft picks away by using them on players we have no intention of selecting.
Re: Mid Season Draft
Don't worry ... I reckon that the Mid-season draft is little more than a distraction for supporters of those clubs who have had a horror season and selling the hope and snake oil that with one or two pickups from outside, they will turn their season around.bpdons wrote: ↑Mon May 27, 2019 9:57 am I’d prefer we don’t go for the quick fix mid season draft. Re: Mid Season Draft
A back up ruck might be useful, if someone likely is available.
Smack is wasted there.

Re: Mid Season Draft
Well, there's a surprise.
We picked Will Snelling (with pick 7), a 21 year old ,short (174 cm or 5' 7") light (80Kg) mid. Was on the Port rookie list for 3 years and managed 1 game and was desisted at end of 2018. He did win the Port Adelaide B&F and their most consistent awards in 2017.
He captained the SA U18 team in 2015 and won the MVP in that comp.
Apparently we have tracked him through his junior days...
Touted as a possible replacement for Devon.
Did I say he is short? He is the same height as McKenna and 3 cm taller than Tippa but shorter than Mozzie (176) and Fanta (178).
He gets a lot of possessions but mainly handballs. He likes to tackle.
The ruck Michael Knoll went at pick 4 to Syd. Pickett went to Rich for pick 13. We did not make a play for Tippa Mk 2
We did not make a second selection. This either means that we are going to upgrade a category B rookie(I didn't think we had one) or... We are happy about our list ... or there is real salary cap pressure on the club coming into negotiations (we are talking 70K here).
After Knoll, Sam Baulderstone may have been worth a look for immediate playing as he has been the dominant Ruck in the SANFL for the past 5 years. While he is 28, he could have provided a couple of seasons support/insurance.

Re: Mid Season Draft
Oh,and in a curious development ...late last week we worked hard to get Tippa 2 placed onto a restriction list (as he is from the Tiwi Islands which is our Academy Zone), but the AFL knocked us back.
So this week when we had a pick and he was available .. we passed instead.
Go figure.
