7:50 into the last, and Leon's blind turn and goal puts us in front!!!

Still the loudest roar I have ever heard at the "G"

The greatest moment of my Essendon loving life. The excitement and euphoria of that moment still gives me goosebumps. Magic.

Being done over in the clearances despite the hitouts being level. TBell needs to lift and put the ball to advantage.

Also - the Hawks are textbook in finding a player to kick to - while we give up on the kick from CHB and still kick to a contest rather than make a lose player.

How the f*** did they f*** defending that last goal up???

Only one player in the goal square and no-one behind the goal line for an after the siren kick?

So frustrating. After a great effort by a few poor judgement and bad kicking has cost us at least four goals. At one point I thought Hawthorn was really on the back foot but in our inevitable way we let them back in . Mckernan shouldn't be there. Something wrong with him. Send him back if necessary and get Hooker up there so we can at least get our lead and our confidence back

Heppell runs into open goal - misses.

Minute and half later, Hurley out muscled by Sciliy then a piss poor attempt to stick a hand out to defend that last goal.

Typifies where we are at ... leaders are pathetic when needed !!!

Can someone tell Laverde to kick just 2 step further back from the man on the mark?

Why do the 50/50's go against us and even some blatent frees (did the Ump think that Tippa doesn't have a neck? Or that giving the free would change the outcome?).

Ordinary.

Pretty ordinary last ten minutes... almost let them steal it from us.. but up to then a lot of good signs. McKenna and Saad both great off the backline. Parish really taking that next step.

Well,we Won and it’s always satisfying knocking off those Smug Bastards Of Injunction!

Well,at least the ones that got a laugh out of Mitchell’s Smartarse Antics!

3rd Quarter got us there and whilst things got a little hairy late in the game,we got the job done in the end!

Well done fellas!Now,for Wet Toast!

Yeah, not quite sure how we won at times. They were pin point in their disposal while we were still ragged but determined. But we got there and I loved our aggression and intercepts and tackles and the way we used them as a door mat. So Grassy, for your sake and mine, I hope it's BURNT toast next weekend :D :D

Very happy overall. I thought tbell really tried hard, saad played a blinder - I just love watching him take the game on. His efforts in the 3rd quarter to intercept and steal a footy, feign twice then bang it home from near 50 was goal of the year for me.

Genuine effort tonight, got tired in the end. Let’s keep up the intensity next week

Pretty much agree with all that.
Don't think they got tired at the end though....after Begley's 2nd goal you could visibly see the team relax. Has happened a few times this year and last, and has let teams back into the contest. Until they get used to winning, and then burying teams, they'll always give us fans stress when we should be soaking up a thorough win.

Well...with 10 mins left to go I thought "here we go again" ...give up a half decent lead if not lose all together...and thank god it was not the latter as I would have well and truly lost my marbles having to be welcomed by no damn trains running after the game ...GET OFF THE TRACKS YOU INCONSIDERATE JUNKIE BASTARD!!!

Pretty top effort all round. The umpiring was atrocious and cost us at least 4 goals. They were always going to come at us and 666 doesnt help anyone protect a good lead.

Loved Saad, Guelfi, Clarke, McKenna, McGrath, Begley, Langford and Parish.

Keep these boys together and playing in the seniors.

Walla's mark was magic.

Luckily left my car at work and caught a different train than usual and wasn t too badly delayed.

Gee it's good to beat those artsy bums.
