we get another mcveigh, sydney get their gun ruckman, hawks get a replacement with potential.
(and maybe a 3rd round draft pick thrown around somewhere to sweeten the deal)

Everitt (Hawthorn to Sydney) for second round draft pick
Solomon (Essendon to Hawthorn) for second round draft pick
Kelly (Geelong to Essendon) on trade the Hawks second round pick we get for Solomon to Geelong.
I like Kelly, don't understand why he spent so much time in the twos this year. Grew up an Essendon supporter. I think he's smart and could add some depth and value to our list.

Well, the writing is on the wall the wall for Solomon at Essendon isn't it.Rossoneri wrote:Heard from a very reliable source that Hawthorn are after Solomon and are talking to his manager at the moment.
One year deal only not prepared to give a two year deal due to his poor form this year.
If the Hawks are prepared to give him a two year deal, a move for Solomon is pretty much on the cards in my opinion.

Sheahan? Hutchison? No, wait....... Whateley?Rossoneri wrote:A reliable source told me
Only reason i ask is because i've heard Solomon being linked to about 4 or 5 clubs over the last few months, and none of those claims were really founded.
But all of a sudden 2 people mention Solomon and Hawthorn in this forum, and i also was talking to a mate at uni today (a Hawks fan) and he's also heard the same thing.
To be frank, it would surprise me. Why would they need a player like Solomon?
Jimmy, I haven't got any source.
I honestly think that the club has got a bit fed up with Solomon. The Solomon / Essendon relationship has reached a plateau and it seems that nothing can lift his form.
We'll keep him but on our terms only - a one year deal.
If he dosen't like it then he has to make a decision.
I linked him to Hawthorn (only as a prediction, given the nature of this thread) because I think his type of player would fit in with what Hawthorn require. I had also read it on other threads in BT and Bomber Blitz that the Dawks have shown more than a passing interest in Solomon.
Come trade time, I personally think that Solomon will be traded if the deal is right. The same with Welsh. We have boys like Slattery to cover their loss. It will also enable M Johnson to play in the position he excells in, a running backman who creates.
If Solomon and Welsh go, I think Jolley will be offered a contract.

Solomon has not helped his cause with repeated on field discipline problems, as greaty as he has been for the club, it's got to be our way , or the highway. Everyone saves face if he rejects a one yr offer. We wanted him to stay, he decided to leave.

Jolley is a rookie. He has to be elevated to the list.uptick wrote:Chris almighty, are you suggesting thatwe might not keep Jolley - heaven help us if thats the case, good lord , is Kernahan helping out at windy hill or something ???!!!1bombercol wrote:Jimmy, I haven't got any source.

No sure bet at the moment.
I think he's done enough, but there would have to be some shaking and moving for him to get on the list.
