Top 5 Most Wanted
Not the top 5 best players, not the top 5 players which will suit our side - Just the your top 5 players who you would want at your club given where they are in their careers and their potential benefits to a footy club.
1. C. Judd
2. P. Ryder
3. L. Hodge
4. L. Franklin
5. M. Leunberger
Judd is Judd and Hodge is Hodge - both develop, young and set to dominate midfielders for at least another 10 years.
Paddy Ryder is going to be an absolute Superstar. I have this amazing wonderful feeling about him that he is going to become an absolute gun for the Essendon Footy Club.
Lance Franklin showed his potential against us when kicking 9 goals - bit worried about his temperament but he is only going to get much better as time goes on.
Leunberger despite not playing a game I reckon is going to be something special - ruckman always take time to develop and for him to be recognised this early as a tall, strong but mobile ruckman is quite impressive. Would have gone No.1 in any other year in the draft. Will take time but in the end is likely to give 10 years service.

Hard to disagree there.
I'd maybe go for Kerr ahead of Hodge, but given his off-field indiscretions, maybe Hodge is the man to have.
And possibly H. MacIntosh before Luenberger, just because we know that he can play and will still improve you would think. You did say "given where they are in their careers" and so far Loony has done squat. If you needed a good ruckman to win a premiership this year or next, definitely McIntosh ahead of Luenberger, but then might as well get Lade or Cox.

Aaron Francis is the Messiah.

you did mention 'our side' so i massuming you mean essendon and as such we already have Ryder, but he would definately be in my top 5 if we didnt.
Considering our immediate needs are for midfielders and our future forward line should be nice with Gumby I think the following would give us a shot at the flag now and our priority would then be to recruit defenders moving forward.
Judd, Kerr, Cox (or Brogan), Murphy, Gibbs
I hate the thought that the Blues appear to have what will become a duo of the best midfielders in the league not so far in the future, but that looks to be the case.

Ricky Petterd (Melb) for mine is probably the steal of this draft. He's going to be a superstar.
Almost impossible to give you a top 5 but I'd love to have:
1. Judd
2. Selwood
3. Hawkins
4. Hodge
5. Franklin
6. Petterd
7. Pearce
8. Murphy
9. Priddis
10. Pendlebury
Ryder and Stanton would make that list easily if it included essendon players.

Are you F****** serious?!?!?!? Stanton in the top ten players you'd take at Essendon right now if he wasn't already playing for us? I could think of at least 20 midfielders who are of similar age and are far superior to Stanton. There's about three out at Carlton alone! Chuck in a couple from the Cats, Melbourne and Footscray and you'd almost be there. f*** me. You read a lot of shit on this site, some of it written by me, but that just about takes the cake.andrewb wrote:Ricky Petterd (Melb) for mine is probably the steal of this draft. The guy is sitting second on the seasons most kicks list just one behind Fletch. Yes this is for the wwhole AFL not just EFC. I know stats can be BS at times in this day and age but still not a bad effort!!
Give the guy a break he is a gun and gets plenty of it which is something we have been missing for a while in the midfoeld.
Any chance that you could name the 20 similar aged midfielders that are FAR superior to Stants?

Yeah Benny. I was going to say the same thing. We'd have turned over our entire list by now if Gringo was in charge... Actually, I haven't heard him bag Jobe for a while. Let's hope he puts in a bad one this weekend...

Give us any three of the above 10, and we would win the flag next year.
