What a way to spend a Friday Afternoon!!
What a way to spend a Friday Afternoon!!
Having your one day old daughter nap on your chest for a couple of hours, that's how I spent my afternoon today.
That is right, some of you may remember a thread a made approximately 35 weeks agon announcing that my wife was pregnant and I was going to be a Dad for the first time.
Well our baby girl, named Harriet, was born on Thursday 14/02/08 @ 7:07am. We had planned a home birth and everything went to plan and my wife had an amazing if somewhat long (due to the fact it kept starting and stopping) labour
Our baby girl was born in a birth pool in our lounge room and is yet to venture into the 'real world'. At the moment she is just sleeping and eating a lot and get heaps of cuddles and adoration.
I'm totally smitten and knew from the moment I first saw her, I would do anything she needed me too and I would do anything to protect her.
It's a very happy household we have here at the moment.

So the little one was born at home and not in a hospital?
Cannot recommend it highly enough if you trust in birth and women's ability to give birth without a team of doctors and nurses swarming around.
Of course you can have homebirths with midwives, but we didn't even feel a need for that. We were confident there weren't going to be any problems and that if did arise we are only 5-10 minute drive from our nearest hospital.

Congrats to you and your wife Ealesy
Parenthood is great and the first few years are really special as you watch them grow and develop their own personalities.
Enjoy the moment and may your daughter grow to be strong, healthy and happy.
