Marty Gleeson on half back just says wangas all over again for me.
If he plays his season like he did last weekend against he dawks. Well he deserves the rising star. Stunning game for a bloke in what his second game.

geee...don a red and black guernsey and your a world beater after 2 decent games, maybe even the next wanganeen. even though he plays nothing like wanga.
some people 'round these parts need to learn to be a little more objective when it comes to essendon players. if this guy played for say carlton and you heard their supporters uttering these things you would laugh and mock them and rightly so.

mark bolton was also purported to be a super athelte too...nudder12 wrote:Apparently Ambrose is a super athlete - speed and endurance. So hopefully, with more games, he'll get better and better.
Re: Ambrose and Gleeson
He plays as much like Wanganeen, as he does Paul Salmon. Spell please.

Yes, but Ambrose has shown much more that bolton did throughout his career (Goodes excluded... )DC2 wrote:mark bolton was also purported to be a super athelte too...nudder12 wrote:Apparently Ambrose is a super athlete - speed and endurance. Martin Gleeson is a ripping kid. Great signs from his first 4 games.

Re: Ambrose and Gleeson
Gleeson is definitely a keeper. He has a touch of class about him this kid. Sweet as honey sublime hand and foot skills. Better than most in the whole team. Slick, zippity doodah, lickety split, turn on a three penny bit, is tough and puts his body on the line, (certain others ought to watch this kid and learn) and can tackle and pull blokes to the ground who are bigger and much heavier than he is. Fearless and cheeky and has a haircut like Ginger Meggs. This kid has almost cemented himself a place in the best 22 after four games.
Ambrose is a surprise packet. Has a huge tank and incredible endurance. Knows where the goals are. Unafraid of taking a mark in the pack.
Could be anything or play anywhere. Needs expert guidance and time to grow into himself. Look forward to seeing more of him.
We are a better team with these players in the side and maybe BT needs to start giving a few players time in the two's and rekindle their hunger. The time of entitlement implied or otherwise, should be over.

Re: Ambrose and Gleeson
Reminds me more of Caracella. Will never be able to take the risks that Wanga did due to his light frame, altho he will develop.
Too far for Baker now he's on to it, now he’s got it, OPEN GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Dons are in front by one point at the 8 minute mark

Great 3rd round pick.
Aaron Francis is the Messiah.
Re: Ambrose and Gleeson
What the hell does this kid have to do to win a rising star nomination? 21 disposals, 8 marks, 3 tackles, 1 goal and over 100 Supercoach points! And 3 solid games prior to the Fremantle game! If he keeps playing like that he will win the bloody award...If he can get a nomination!

Re: Ambrose and Gleeson
Bump....
Is it just me or does it seem that Ambrose has been able to impact important contests late in games. I have heard about his "tank" etc and he is very raw but his never shirks the contest and always gives 100%. Obviously we want him kicking more goals etc and taking more marks but for me he is tracking ok. Lots of other more highly paid and experienced players doing less than Paddy at the moment.

Seems like his taking marks on the midfield wing. Not really playing to his depths in the forward. However our forward line has been average at best this year.Western Red wrote:Bump....
