This topic could be in General Discussion as well, given the Social implications of it.But I’ll start it here for now and maybe someone can start a more Serious thread about it elsewhere.
But in reading The Age this morning, one of the Biggest Complaints of Footy Fans at the game and watching the Telly is the bombardment of Gambling Ads,which may concern parents greatly about the influence it has on their kids.
Sportsbet is one such Agency you hear from on a regular basis and whilst the ads are daggy, they’re there! But should they be banned? On TV,parents have the power to simply switch them off.
Not so at the Footy and that’s probably the nub of their complaints. The Advertising and the excessive noise, that doesn’t really need to be blared out,it could put across one or both scoreboards.
Sportsbet(who have been Naughty Boys of late)with their ads, really belong in the Betting Shops,so that only the Punters can make of th3m,what they want.If they want to the Corporates betting on the Game, plug in a few screens to those that want to hear it,inside their boxes and tune into Sky Racing.
The Footy Fans and in particular, families with kids don’t need to hear it.Not until they’re 18 at least.
