Well f*** me, what a fkng mess that is. Seriously the difference between the trump attemp and if it had been Biden?? Biden would still be *ducking* Simple fact is he`s way too old and looks like he just struggles to function. Hopefully has 'good' advisors.

And in the other corner you have a bloke that went out of his way to incite a riot in which 6 people died and many more injured physically and nentally, oh and Mike Pence would be dead today if they had found him. And as we know he is facing a string of charges for other shit too.

And it gets worse. He is a definate threat to world peace. I'm old, been there done that so it doesn`t really matter to me, but I have beautiful grand-children and I care about their future. Hopefully I'm wrong BUT I don't trust trump.

They are both past their used by date.
Why, in a country of over 300 million people, they can't find candidates more representative, and younger, is a total mystery.

Their "Party" system is crap.

Ours rewards people who join the Young Liberals or Young Labor in their first year of uni, play silly buggers at uni by playing dirty tricks on their rivals and the opposition young party, become an "advisor" for their local member in their second year of uni, get voted in on their local council in their third year and become mayor in their 4th year....

And after 4 or 5 more years ... often getting a ministerial advisor role or a directorship in the supposedly independent public service [and both sides do this] or working at some supposedly independent think tank like it IPA or the Chifley institute... get parachuted into a safe seat and spend time sprouting bullshit about how the voters are their job review...

Sadly, potential labor pollies don't even go through the union member route anymore nor do the Libs even go through small business experience.

For the Nats think Victorian Farmers Federation (or other state equivalent) and the National Farmers Federation otherwise much the same,
For the Greens - think the Australia Institute and some local activist group in the first year...

So we have a steady stream of "leadership" contenders ... albeit with next to non-existent real world experience (which is why we get some truly crap ministers ... on both sides. But it's their faction's turn and one way for the leader to shore up the numbers.

In the Victorian public service (I was there for 10 years) I worked with (and was managed by) 3 current MP's. 2 Lab, 1 Lib and 2 State, 1 Federal MPs.

One was a total arsehole though he tried to pretend that he was everyone's friend.
One was a shocker to work with, he couldn't be bothered and would even turn up to his own meetings 40 minutes late... simply because his attention was elsewhere. He is a current minister.
The last was a turd, he kept on pointing out where he thought the bodies were buried and kept intimating that he would add you to his personal list of burials.

Not sure our system is that much better....

The oddity is that the polls missed this result.
And the reason they missed it is because a lot of people were too embarrassed to say they would vote for Trump.
So... they had some morality issues about admitting they'd vote for him, but no morality issues about actually voting for him.
Society is a facade.
