Re: Delistings

Thoughts on us delisting Gleeson and Clarke with a promise of rookie listing them if no one else picks them up. Just a reminder, Marty Gleeson was a restricted free agent, meaning that he was in the 25% highest paid players at the Club, which is frankly ■■■■■■■ ridiculous. But it might also explain ...

Re: General AFL Drafting & Recruiting stuff

Biggest shit show going on at the moment is what is going on between Treloar and Collingwood. Bloke restructured his deal numerous times so they could bring in the likes of Wells and Beams (didn't those two work out well for them) and now that he is owed the really big money they want to shove him o...

7. Their boring scrabbly game plan that relies totally on luck

Hate Richmond all you want, but this point is utterly ridiculous. You don’t win 3 out of 4 premierships with a game plan that relies totally on luck.

Bloody amazing to think a 7ft, liberal, American from Texas might have very well prevented Richmond from 4-peating.

Re: 2018 Victorian State Election

Latest polling has Labor up 54-46 2PP...which would see the. Increase their majority over the LNP, even if they do lose a couple of inner city seats to the Greens which they are a chance to.

Re: Picks 34, 66, 84

At Pick 34...we should take the next Josh Kelly

At Pick 66....we should take the next Max Gawn, although I would accept the next Brodie Grundy

At Pick 84...I guess I would accept the next Marcus Bontempelli.

Not to put any pressure, or anything on you Disco.

Re: Who do we want?

Dea is f****** stiff. This years most courageous player. Played well in the games he played. Would have thought he’d keep the likes of Ambrose and Gleeson honest. Ah well... Reckon the club reckons the likes of Ridley, Redman and Zerk-Thatcher will keeps the likes of Ambrose & Gleeson honest. H...

Re: Vale the Mayor of Fumbledon

In the late 90s it was Port who used to poach our players...Wanganeen, Cookatoo-Collins, Kingsley, Hardwick etc.

It has well and truly shifted to Freo now with Kepler Bradley, Solly, Mark Johnson, Gumbleton, Coyler

Re: Vale the Mayor of Fumbledon

Was it 2014 or 2015 when he played absolutely brilliant football for about the first 11 weeks of the season (clean with the ball, good disposal, used his pace to advantage) then busted his foot and missed the rest of the season. That was the best football he played for us. Goodbye Trav, all the best...

Re: DYLAN SHIEL

We paid what we had to get the deal done and don't think for a moment not getting the deal done was an option. If after nominating us over clubs offering far more cash, if we failed to land Shiel it would have been a disaster. You can rest assured that we'd never be able to get another player to nom...

Re: Fletch jnr

Max Fletcher (Dusty younger son) has just been added to the Calder Cannons summer training squad at age 15. If he was to make the team and play a significant amount of under 18 football next year as a 16 year old that would be a good sign for us.

Re: Who do we want?

Talk that GWS have cracked the shits for "having" accept unders for Setterfield and Scully and thus are playing hard ball with Shiel and Lobb. Well dickheads that isn't how trading works, also you essentially told Shiel and Lobb to f*** off. Also how much does the Hawks trading for Scrimsh...

Re: Fletch jnr

Cal Twomey, who now Emma Quayle has gone to club land, is the guy I listen most to about the draft and potential draftees, has Mason Fletcher going as a rookie, if I'm not mistaken.

Re: DYLAN SHIEL

The last few hours of trade period is being televised Wednesday night on Fox Footy. Notice how none of the big name deals have been completed yet, but plenty of little some no name player from a top 8 team has been traded to a bottom 4 team for a draft pick in the 19th round have occurred. You know ...

Well seeing he missed pretty much his entire U18 year with injury, hard to see him being anymore than a late round/rookie draft pick....no idea where this talk of him being a potential 1st round pick is coming from.

Missed most of the year with stress fractures in his back. If the club wants him, he will be a rookie pick I'd imagine, same goes for Matt Neagle.

Didn't Zaka miss 6-8 weeks with his shoulder injury? Hard to place top 10 in a B&F missing that many games.

Re: Skip Bin Ordered @ Tullamarine

Wasn't there a story that us an Port Adelaide were the only clubs to have have automatic pay rises written into player's contract when the CBA was completed and the Salary Cap was increased thus creating a fairly decent war chest for us. I’m trying to figure out what this is and what it means. I’m ...

Re: 2 more years

F111 wrote: Tue Aug 14, 2018 2:35 pm yup two more. Why not 3 or 4?
Because by extending it a further 2, it takes him to FA, he has a couple of injury free seasons like he did last year, he can count on a big, fat, multi-year deal on much coin, either from us or someone else.
