Who would win the crichton?
Any idea? I'm really struggling to pick a b & f this year.
I'd almost go out on a limb and say despite missing half the season, david hille has played pretty well. Maybe watson(although he has been below his best) or another blokes whose missed a bit fletch....
pretty slim pickings.

They should raffle the award to its fans and raise enough money to pay Knights out
I would buy a ticket for $100 no dramas in fact I would probably buy one for $500

Watson is the only dude who has played anywhere near consistant footy.
Re: Who would win the crichton?
It shouldn't be awarded this year, lest every poor bastard who has ever won one feel compelled to return it.
Like sand through the hour glass, so are the days at the Essendon Football Club.

Watson should win by a considerable margin.Sismis wrote:Watson is the only dude who has played anywhere near consistant footy.

What about Hocking? I know he stank it up big time last week against LeCras (but then IMO that's because he was being played out of position). He put in some pretty good games early in the year.

Re: Who would win the crichton?
Fletch would have been winning by a country mile if it wasnt for the suspensions...
My bet would be out of Hocking, Watson and L-Murray at the moment.

Re: Who would win the crichton?
The crichton is a funny beast as most of the votes come from the coach's box ... so just as likely to favor those who follow Knight's instructions to the letter as much as those who have had a real impact on the game (those who doubt this should check Henno's and Johns' Crichy record!!!) ... so don't be suprised when Slattery or Gumby wins it
That said - Even though the post seems about picking the least bad of a bad bunch .. Hocking is the standout as he has clearly improved this year even when played out of position.
Other contenders would be Watson or Fletch (even though his suspensions are frustrating). Hooker and Pears - despite injury - have played enough good games (5-7 each) to also give it a shake given the up and down nature of the rest of the team.

haha there is no love for Natrat on this board.... I really like him as a player and i do feel that he is in career best form at the moment. Doing wonders for my dream team as well!BenDoolan wrote:My tip would be Hocko. And laugh all you want, but my smokey would be NLM

Re: Who would win the crichton?
I have no problem with Natrat because he has a crack. He gives his all regardless of the situation. But the reality is, he is just an honest battler, and if he wins the Crichton, then the rest of the playing group really needs to have a good hard long look at themselves.Mrs Mercuri wrote:haha there is no love for Natrat on this board.... Winderlich will pip Watto - only because I reckon Winder is about to turn on some red hot form
Re: Who would win the crichton?
Would love to see Fletch win it even though it would be almost a bad thing that a 35 year old is our best player.

Re: Who would win the crichton?
Harder to pick than a broken nose this year. No player has really stood out at all. Probably Watto or NLM.
I think Hocking is the best bet for most improved.

Gadget then daylight. The only consistent player all year in spite of the "holidays".
Too far for Baker now he's on to it, now he’s got it, OPEN GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Dons are in front by one point at the 8 minute mark
