Bombertalk Footy Quiz
Re: Bombertalk Footy Quiz
Essendon achieved an unwanted first in the 1968 Grand Final. What was it?
Re: Bombertalk Footy Quiz
First team to lose a grand final after scoring more goals than the opposition?

Re: Bombertalk Footy Quiz
Correct. Still the only team to do it too, I think.

I'll jump in...
How many VFL games did Richmond premiership player, Bill James play?

Re: Bombertalk Footy Quiz
I'm figuring that is going to be a small figure, otherwise why ask and I'm going to guess that his 1920 VFL Premiership was his one and only VFL game.

Re: Bombertalk Footy Quiz
In the past decade Essendon has had the brothers of two high profile AFL Premiership players at other clubs on our list, name them, the draft selection we used on them and how many games they played for Essendon in the AFL.

Re: Bombertalk Footy Quiz
You are correct...however, I wasn't thinking of Ashley and Corey McGrath (I hadn't realised Ash had actually played in one of the Lions Flags), there is another one.

Spike?
Re: Bombertalk Footy Quiz
Nope, Jarrad Mcveigh wasn't a member of the 2005 Sydney Premiership team.
I'll give you a hint, the brother who was on our list, never managed to crack it for a game in the seniors.

Was it another McGrath? I wasn't aware they were brothers though. From memory this guy was fat.ealesy wrote:Nope, Jarrad Mcveigh wasn't a member of the 2005 Sydney Premiership team.

Re: Bombertalk Footy Quiz
Correct, Marcus Pickett, brother of Byron Pickett, pick 45 (can't remember which draft).
With him and Shane Harvey it looked like our recruiting policy was simply to select blokes related to other good established AFL players.

Re: Bombertalk Footy Quiz
I'll ask the next one.
It's a "who am I?" I'll put up some clues and add to them as the guesses come in. If there are 3 incorrect guesses, I'll add an extra clue or two.
I debuted in the late 80's against Essendon and performed quite well - although inaccuracy was my curse as I kicked 1 goal 5 behinds from 19 disposals.
I debuted at a late age (26 years 213 days) in the VFL/AFL
I played a total of 12 games in my first season before being delisted by my club.
I was recruited the following year by my 2nd club where I played in a losing Grand Final and where I kicked a bizarre goal and took an absolute screamer.
