Nothing in it. You could see him pulling his arm back to avoid contact. If he wanted to intentionally whack him, he would have.

Just got the news 10 minutes back on 504.

Sorry Ben,he’s Guilty to me.I would have given him a week for Intentional and reckless contact.

If there was no intention, what was his arm doing there in the 1st place?

I take it a player’s head isn’t that sacrosanct to the AFL now,if it wasn’t before.

So the precedent has been set.Reckon a few roughies will try it on now.And for that, they should get off,.......shouldn’t they? :-"

No I don’t.Call me cynical, but don’t you think the AFL play favourites here on certain players?

If someone else had done what Ablett had done, what then?Furthermore,if they did that to Ablett, what then?

2 weeks, with No chance of a reprieve for some battler?

It’s not so much the severity of the offence that shits Supporters, but the fact that high profile players on the mat, seem to get off Scottfree.

Not saying there was much in it, but so much for head being sacrosanct...

Shiel has disposed of the ball and Gaz could’ve dropped his arm and bumped, same result on field, but unlikely to be reported.

Was clumsy and late at best, raised arm and no intention of tackling, IMO indicates it was deliberate...

Different story if he didn’t get up etc.

I just think the game is insane if they’re looking to rub players out for that sort of thing.

Don’t worry, when one of our guys does it, he’ll cop weeks. I bet we won’t challenge it, and we will just have to wear it.

Ablett does exactly the same high elbowing action again today against North and the AFL minions go in action and claim it should just a $2000 fine. In the same game the perfect shepherding bump is executed against Gary Rohan and because of accidental head clash the North player is looking at weeks.

The world of AFL has gone insane.

Holding the ball is simply not holding the ball, bumps are illegal, protected species like Ablett are looked after, the game looks like rugby union and I hate it.

If he gets off,you have to wonder if anyone has a lot riding on an Ablett Brownlow Win?

For once with CERTAIN organisations,I really hope NOT!

And he's free again.
This week not even a case to answer.
Even though....last week MRO said that because he left the ground (jumped in the air) he HAD TO GRADE IT AS INTENTIONAL and offer a week ban. MRO said that is the guideline he has been given.

So, umm, what?? The guidelines have all been rewritten this week have they?
Surely, surely, surely......MRO was duty bound by his guidelines to give out the same decision this week, and it again be up to the tribunal to judge it if there was an appeal.
Refer to MH Bombers "I hate AFL" post.

So now Rampe seeks to become the protected one....by no other than the AFLPA - who reckon his fine was too high, because.......it isn't consistent with other similar cases.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Where were you, AFLPA, when we needed commentary about consistency of applying the rules AGAINST Rampe???
Looks like their consistency is, umm, err, inconsistent! LOL

So Ablett doesn`t want to be known as a sniper??? maybe he should stop elbowing people in the head, that`s a start.

As Sam Pang said last night on The Front Bar - “when it comes to champions, their elbows are sacrosanct”
